If I’m not mistaken, your new CD is set up for release by Visage Records, while your former efforts were unleashed through Holland’s Displeased Records. Therefore, I’d like to know why did you left Displeased and signed with a label which is almost unknown in the metal underground?

- Displeased were unhappy with our new sound and they werent happy releasing the new album so they helped in finding a label that would release it - despite this the track “Kullu” did feature on the Displeased Records compilation "Smells Like Team Spirit II"

Both, «The Last Day Begins?» and «Todays Tomorrows Yesterdays», featured rather weird though still rather brutal music, however «Advanced Technology» almost lacks e-guitars and brutality appearing as something that could be easily defined as ‘rave’! How would you explain such drastical metamorphosis and what caused these changes?

- “Advanced Technology” started life as a "solo" project with Andy Bennett and myself, and everyone began to like it and so it became the new HYBERNOID album – HYBERNOID would not exist now if it wasn't for this album – although we havent used as many guitars we are still striving for an aggressive sound - we just use synthesizers to create this now intsead.

Don’t you fear that your old fans will try to forget about HYBERNOID after listening to «Advanced Technology»?

- HYBERNOID as a whole were becoming disillusioned with the doom scene and as such we felt we needed to move on - we still feel there are a lot of hints of old HYBERNOID still within the CD and HYBERNOID were never the most extreme of bands in any case - it is a shame if people lose interest but if they do then there is nothing we can do about that - it is there choice…

Talking about the ‘styles’ thing... You defined «The Last Day Begins?» as ‘melancholy, ambient and grinding anger’ - what did you try to tell your listeners through this label?

- We don't carry a message as such other than a lot of the songs on “The Last Day…” covered themes to do with Environmental issues - this is a hard one to answer really…

Who is that girl who sang on your first CD? I don’t mean her name, but former bands and suchlike info...

- None as far as I know - she left the band mainly because she moved to another area and wasn't able to travel to rehearse.

«Kullu», «Eyewall», «Fiat Lux»... Strange titles... Cab you tell us a bit about your lyrics? Is there any kind of special message behind them and what role do they play in your band’s conception?

- The names of the tracks and the lyrics just grew with the album - there is no message within the lyrics or the titles particularly.

Please, few words regarding England’s metal scene...

- Dead or at least seriously injured - All scenes within the UK are suffering - the Music Industry here is very narrow minded and as a result it is very difficult for anything to grow - The european scene is much healthier.

Can you name few typical resistances which appeared on the musical path you embarked on?

- Work, Money, Sex, Lies, Children, Bullshit (Repeat until bored)

Does your country possess a strong underground? I mean well developed clubs’ system, permanent gigs, etc...

- I think it used to do but I think it is struggling at the moment - these are hard times and it seems as though nobody is interested anymore.

Your new CD is entitled «Advanced Technology» so I just can’t pass the question concerning your opinion of the Internet, it’s past and future, as well as further possibilities...

- We are connected to the internet - and the internet has its uses - I think the new scenes are being developed with the internet and for that part it is definitely a good thing.

I’m wondering if you’re still performing gigs as your contemporary music seems to be rather hard-to-be-played live...?

- We don't currently play live at all - the current setup is very much studio based which does make life difficult - although I wouldn't rule this out altogether for the future.

By the way, what about sales of «The Last Day Begins?» and «Todays Tomorrows Yesterdays»?

- Together they have sold about 6000 as far as we know (strange, I thought each CD was sold at least in 10000 copies - ED)

Would you mind to inform us of your personal musical favourites? Are there any metal bands left?

- I am not the person to ask really as I have never been into metal particularly - although I do like PITCHSHIFTER.  -  I grew up listening to a lot of European industrial music like F242 etc etc and JOY DIVISION and NEW ORDER have also been a big influence on the band.

Do you know anything in regards to Russia and Russian metal scene? What is opinion of my country’s people?

- I don't have much knowledge really - as far as the people go I think you have had and are still having a hard time and you must be really fucked off with your government at times - but maybe it isnt as bad as we are lead to believe - I don't know??

The end has come and crowned the world with fire, for we are nothing but a useless mire... What will be the closing words from HYBERNOID’s
domain...?

- I don't know - whatever people would have us say ::::
