Ave! Since I know nothing when it comes to BURIAL SHADES, let's start our chat the usual way: guess what I'm talking about?
- Greetings mortal.
Blind man guesses how dark is around him,
and how dark is there he dares to come in. Welcome! Here is our revelation.
B.S. started in 1995. We don't want the
first and next line-up to be mentioned. Those people have preferred their
own human life (with it's bad and good) to our way. Just one thing... when
coming this way we have lost the useless parasites, and now there is no
place for the weakness in the heart of the B.S.
New line-up is:
Chaosofist - lyrics, guitar
Havox - vocal, orchestration
Cerial - guitar
Damien - bass.
It's not the new beginning. It's just like
fresh blood, which makes us stronger.
How many works have you put out thus far? Would you consider "To The Fleshes..." most successful one?
- Here are our works:
"Black Water's Charm (Darkweeds Seasons
Come)" 1995 (demo-tape)
"We Are All Grey Stars In Gold Eyes Of
Lamia" 1996 (unrecorded)
"Coldkind, Darkness, Wings And Neverleaving
Passion Of Emperor Cold" 1997 (self released demo MC)
"To The Fleshes Of My Livid Everything"
1999 (MC, Beverina Productions)
Of course, you are right. This one is our best work to this moment. But it could be much more better (I mean the recording). Believe us, we have did our best, but had no money to work in professional record studio. Anyway we think "To the Fleshes..." looks more or less in a fitting manner.
What do the lyrics of yours deal with? Actually, most of lyrics written by metal bands, appear as rather senseless, nonrealistic and, what's most disgusting, utterly ridiculous. What about that...?
- What is your problem? What kind of lyrics do you expect to hear from the metal bands, especially when the bands play death-metal, doom-metal, black-metal, etc...??? There is other sensation and atmosphere. This one is on hostile terms with fucking reality (believe us, it's just a fake) of human world. But sometimes it comes like reflection of the worst side of this world. Disgusting rhymes, blasphemous hymns, genocidal manifestation, the art of nondivine. We think it's great! This is the voice of our time. And a thousands of throats growl: there are so many days to live in the dead world (but keep this secret). Of course we support all this methods of aggression. But we stay above it because of our right and will. Our heart belongs to demonic art (here) and to Hell (here and there) undividedly. With our lyrics, which based on the concept of Coldkind (cold + kind, just as humankind, but against it) we praise the Evil, and it's a just one mode (way) we bring it into the life.
Furthermore;
I've studied the lyrical canvas "To The Fleshes..." comes with, quite carefully,
and it seems like your grammar's rather poor. Moreover, no one of either
English or American origin, would ever entitle the CD the way you did (i.e.
"To The Fleshes Of My Livid Everything"), and even if BURIAL SHADES is
more or less ok concerning this subject, MISANTHROPIC POETRY's song titles
are literally beyond any comprehensibility!
- We have to speak the alien language (English, Russian, French... human) for to be understood. Yes, you are right. Our grammar has to be improved. But this problem does not disturb our expression as in B.S. as in M.P.
By the way, what roused you to start yet another project, this time definitely worthless one? Wasn't MISANTHROPIC POETRY brought forth the light on the wave of this black metal racket?
- Worthless project, worthless taste... - it's just your own opinion and it looks like a review of man, who is shocked and insulted with something wild. The truth is: you are the true pupil of the human nursery. So you are worthy of it. To tell about M.P. is to awoke the wounded beast. This project was started in 1996 by three members of B.S. That was another method of aggressive manifestation in black-metal vein, but not the racket. To tell the truth it's 300 MC copies are sold out in Europe, and the reviews of this work is not only negative.
Proceeding with this subject; of course it s just my personal opinion, however let me dare to say that I haven't ever heard an album with NO goddamn atmosphere it should be soaked with!!! You know, if BURIAL SHADES is a good piece of bleeding stake, MISANTHROPIC POETRY is nothing but vegetarian crap.
- "Inhaling the Winds..." was recorded during one night in the rehearsal room without professional sound engineering, and following mastering was totally fucked out with radiostation equipment. But bad, dirty and feeble sound was not the idea. We hope you guess what is the main problem. If not - we tell you: fucking money. Just one thing in addition: the beast M.P. is wounded, but still undead. Once he will step on his path again.
Ok, enough with MISANTHROPIC POETRY. It doesn't really deserve wasting my time. Therefore; back to BURIAL SHADES. What kind of feedback have you received once "To The Fleshes..." was released? Any licensing (or perhaps, even record-) deals? I'd be glad if my suppositions turned out to be true!
- Beware to be deserved to waste the time
of the Beast.
About BURIAL SHADES: "To the Fleshes..."
MC is distributed by Beverina Productions (Latvija). This year CD "To the
Fleshes..." will come out with support of In the Form of Darkness
(USA). Besides that we send our promo pack by ourselves to everyone who
is interested in it (we mean distros, zines, radioshow, etc...)
Haven't you ever been compared to ESOTERIC and alike acts? Judging by the atmosphere you're contriving to capture, as dark and gloomier than the gloom itself, comparisons of this kind are more than possible...
- You are the first one, who compares us with ESOTERIC. To tell the truth, we have never listened this band. But we know about these guys from England. In "Legion" article was written how they composing their music using drugs. We know nothing about EVOKEN. We will try to find and listen these bands. Also we was compared with ELEND. We think it's a really great project. You are right when talking about our dark and gloomy atmosphere. That is our aim. That is the capture...
By the way, comparing BURIAL SHADES to MISANTHROPIC POETRY (for the last time), I still can't figure out why does "To The Fleshes..." comes with such a unique atmosphere whilst that "Inhaling..." MC by MISANTHROPIC POETRY lacks any kind of ambience at all. Perhaps, you ll explain me?
- Styles of M.P. and B.S. are different. Death has many faces, murders have many modes, evil deeds is countless as their victims. There is the way to comprehend the Death - look beyond the face.
BURIAL SHADES = black metal?
- Burial Shades is demonic art.
Ok, the time has come to broach religious matters... Anything you'd like to share us with, when it comes to your attitude to organized (and non) religions?
- Religion is the problem of the religious one. This is the world of enslaved to be saved (they never will be). Deny the savior! His misery is substantiated.
Have you ever dreamt 'bout something undoubtedly unreachable?
- It's becoming truth.
As a matter of fact, are your fantasies really your own? I mean, every man is an inalienable part of society (and the contrary), therefore all the dreams, all the reveries and fantasies you consider to be your own, could be a mere product of society instead of being something personal... What's your opinion on such a supposition?
- Society. How many effusiveness is there in this word. Take it easy! Here is no society, but colony. Another colony. The herd. Inalienable part of society... replaceable detail of the mechanism... esse homo. (We could tell you much more about human being). There is no place of something human in our ideas. We don't live by human laws - the laws of the victim. Fantasies is the fate of the victim. We came without fantasies but with WILL.
Do
you listen to any other kinds of music apart from metal?
- We hail all styles of dark and evil aggression. Everything, that is inhuman and nondivine lives with us.
What about the Pskovian metal community? At the moment, I m familiar only with you, FULLMOON RISE and those kids from BLACK WOOD...
- We have no relationship (we live in St. Petersburg) (???? - ED).
Do you consider 'zines to be an important part of the scene? What's your view on Vae Solis, it's good and bad (??) sides?
- Of course zines, distros, radioshows does their work good. We have visited Vae Solis. It's really good and looks in a fitting manner. Your work goes well. Bad side... you know (what am I supposed to know...? - ED).
Enough said. As always, final words of yours.
- Thanks for your honesty and support. Try to escape from the colony...
Homo hostis est.
Best Dark Regards
