Greetings… As always with the young bands who still have to gain some popularity or at least certain status in the underground, let’s start with the history ELSEWHEN has…

- ELSEWHEN was created in 1995 by Fotis "Sheriff" Toumanides on bass, Stavros St.John on guitar and Menelaos Tagdalides on drums. Later on Chris Giouvanopoulos came on vocals and the band remain this way all these years.

What kinds of moods are you trying to convey in “Gates Of Time”?

- In "Gates Of Time" we are trying to introduce our music to anyone who is interested in this kind of music. We are not trying for something specifically, we just play the music we like.

Where do you get your musical and lyrical inspiration from? Do you have any special source of influence?

- Our inspiration comes from the music we listen, from the books we read and from the things we hear. The way this world is becoming can make you think if man is really the logical being of this planet.

The song-titles the "Gates Of Time"-tracks carry, sound quite exciting, consequently I'd like to hear you telling us few words regarding the subject your lyrics deal with, and the concept behind them if there's any.

- Well, some lyrics (like "Under Distant Starlight") are a fantasy way of looking at life, with assimilation and images that can give more power to the things you're saying. In "Lives Yet To Come" we're trying to say that the end of earth is already here and looking away from it won't save the people that will be born in the future...

What direction do you see your music taking from now on? Is it going to be continuing on in the “Gates Of Time” vein?

- "Gates Of Time" is only a demonstration of our music that was written from the beginning of the band since 1998 when we recorded our songs. Since then we are trying to play all the things that come in our mind.

Has ELSEWHEN done any live performances? If so, how were they and what was your stage performance like? If you haven`t done any shows, what would the ultimate ELSEWHEN performance be like?

- ELSEWHEN played many times live and did it very well. We like playing live our songs and the people who were there liked it also. Still we would live to play in a big concert with the best amps we can find and a big stage and...

Have you learned to handle the instruments professionally? By the way, the same question goes to Chris, as his voice sounds incredible!

- We played many hours each day so we can play almost anything that comes in our mind and fantasy. It's better to be able to play what you want than to play only what you can, and also playing live it's easier.

Do you know anything regarding Russia? What is your attitude to the country of mine as well as it’s people? Any Russian bands you’ve heard lately?

- I don't really know many things about Russia than the things we hear in the news. Unfortunately no Russian bands are known here. Of course we would like to play live there.

Do you really believe that perfect form of democracy will ever exist anywhere in the world? By the way, how are the things going in Greece in regards to politics? I’ve heard that lots of metal (especially black metal) bands endured huge problems when it comes to censorship…

- Democracy? No, that thing died thousands of years ago. Now people of earth have only moneycracy.

What is your attitude to death penalty?

- I think that the people who have tortured and killed a child have no longer rights.

What do you plan on doing now?

- These days we're recording new songs and old ones a little changed. We're trying to find a company to help us go worldwide and play live as much as we can.

What kind of question are you waiting for most of all, though still in vain? And if there is such a question, what is your answer to it?

- (this is personal question-answer, not the band's) Question: what instruments would you like to have in a band? Answer: 5 basses and a drummer.
