Let’s start with the history of both bands you take part in…

- GLACIAL FEAR was born in 1992 by me and bass player Andrea in Catanzaro... we've worked with a young drummer to release the first stuff that was a demotape of 3 tx (1993) and after a year we've released a 7"EP titled "Secrets At The Steam Forest", self produced, that solds over 1000 copies around! After we've changed the drummer and we've added a keyboardist to the band... with these new members we've released an MCD in 1995 edited by Italian Nosferatu Records and a full CD in 1998 titled "Frames", edited by Nocturnal Music... after this release we've changed for another time the drummer and the new guy Enzo is that right this time!!! Now we've also a vocalist called Nicola that has recorded with us the newest album "The Fetish Parade" that we hope to release very soon! Also, the keys are no more in the band, from the last studio album!!!
About LUPERCALIA, I found this project in 1996 with the help of some GLACIAL FEAR members as contributors... I've released only a demotape in 1997 "Per Amica Silentia Lunae" and an MCD in 1999 titled "The Moaning Age".

What was the sense in releasing GLACIAL FEAR’s promo CD through the label of your own? I mean, why promo, not a mini-CD?

- Only to spread the name around and to search for a professional deal cause my Explorers Records it's only a small and underground productions center!!!

Furthermore, when will we be able to get ourselves acquainted with the newest works by GLACIAL FEAR and LUPERCALIA?

- About LUPERCALIA, I'm planning to record some new tx for a possible EP, but first I've some bands to produce in my 16tracks digital studio, so when I've done these works, I'll start to work on next release... For GLACIAL FEAR it's different, cause we have now ready the new album and we're still searching for a good label to print it! If I’m not mistaken, GLACIAL FEAR is now signed to Nocturnal Music…

- No, we haven't a deal with Nocturnal Music... simply they signed us for the album "Frames" and promised us to work for the second album! Anyway we're contacting a lot of labels to see if possible to find a medium / big deal, cause we're proud of the new work and the new lineup kills! We played 2 gigs in Feb 2000 and the reactions were I n c r e d i b l e!!!!!!!!!!

What pushed you forward to start Explorers Records? Any plans to enlarge this company, f.ex. by signing more bands (besides your own)?

- Simply to release the works of my LUPERCALIA, but when I'll have time and monet I'd like to work something with cool bands, strictly underground, cause I'm only a small prod... I'd like to release a 7"EP series, we'll see!!!

GLACIAL FEAR is some kind of groovy death metal, whilst LUPERCALIA is purely a black metal act. Which one is older and why did you choose exactly these forms of self-expression?

- GLACIAL FEAR now it's not a deathmetal band! Someone define our music cybermetalcore, or moshcore or modern groove thrash / death... anyway, we try to be ourselves! While LUPERCALIA it's my darkside... the older form of expression was in GLACIAL FEAR but both was grow up to exprime our feelings on this earth... GLACIAL FEAR for the alienate minds of today's life and LUPERCALIA for the bridge with our past, done by a lot of traditional knows!

Please, tell us few words concerning the equipment you have at your home studio? I’m asking this because “The Moaning Age” by LUPERCALIA was executed at your place and the sound quality is surprisingly nearly stunning.

- Thanx! My studio it's called Ultrasound lab and now it has 16 digital tracks on 2 separate recorders (on hard disk), a Tascam 16 ch mixer, shure microphones, drum triggers, Yamaha monitors, Alesis, beheringer, dbx outboard processors, equipment for guitar and bass (Marshall stacks with Heads) and some other things... anyway I've recorded LUPERCALIA MCD only on 8 tracks cause at that time I had only a recorder! (wow... It sounds amazing for eight tracks only! - ED)

Who’s that Andy R., who performed bass in LUPERCALIA? Does he plays anywhere else?

- It's Andrea Rizzuto, bass player of GLACIAL FEAR!

Lyrically, “The Moaning Age” seems to deal with the subject of occultism, right? What is your view on this phenomena? Have you ever practiced it yourself? What would you tell those who consider it to be the supreme power able to invert one’s life and those who claim it to be nothing but senseless tales intended for various teens?

- I was in occultism when I was younger (but I've never practiced)... now I'm 26 years old and I have my feet on the earth, I'm atheist, oh no I'm Alienatheist... simply I want to exprime the sounds that I feel in the night (when I compose the most of the stuff for this project)... I love to create songs that have a dark and poetry feeling, and I think that weird melodies can help me in this purpose!

Could you live further, once becoming a crippled man (due to some kind of accident or alike event)?

- Hey, what a kind of question!!!? I hope to live well till my moment will come! Anyway we have to live, if once become a cripple, cause we have only a chance on this earth, and nothing more!!!

Do you know anything regarding Russia? What is your attitude to the country of mine as well as it’s people? Any Russian bands you’ve heard lately?

- I'm very curious to visit Moscow cause I think it's a wonderful place to see... I don't need how it's life in nowadays in your country, I hope things will come better than the past. I know some bands from your country: ROSSOMAHAAR, CUMDEO, TALES OF DARKNORD and SATARIAL (that for me are the best ones) (you have a bad taste, man - ED)... I'm in contact with R.I.P. Productions!
