Greetings, Shane! In order to escape regular ‘FAQ’-alike crap, asking various shit regarding your past days, just say anything (or nothing!) you feel to be of importance in regards to MISCREATION… The history, the principal idea or whatever.

- MISCREATION was formed in September of 1998 due to an amalgamation of a few other bands in the scene, who at the time had split up. Six weeks later we had our first gig that went of without a hitch due to the fact that we all had played in another band at some point with at least two other members of MISCREATION except for vocalist Mark who was new to the whole band situation all together. Seven months later we entered Grey Label Studios and recorded four song to release as our "Debut Demo" primairily to get some interest in what we were doing from both the local and international scenes. Since the release of the demo we have played around 25- 30 shows the last of which was part of the Embracing the Flesh tour which saw us hit the road for the first time out of state to support both ENCABULOS and PSYCHRIST on their EP and album launches.

Let me wonder why do the pics of yours appear in the shape of distorted infant bodies (“Debut Demo” CD is what I’m talking about)? Are you some kind of “infant-hater”, erh? :))

- Personally I am not a baby hater, although they can be quite a pain in the arse at times, but i do believe that they are the most evil form of life on the planet as they have no respect for anything. If a child wants something it just takes it no matter who has it or where it is. The reson behind those photos was to go along with the band name, a kind of theme if you like, as with the cover art which was done by Pete (guitar), he thinks that she is extremely gorgeous.

I beg your pardon, but your lyrics seem to be too typical to me, in terms of their contents. Anything you’d like to object to this statement of mine?

- Thank you for the constructive critiscm, we don't get that very often as people just seem to tell us about the stuff that they like or love about the demo. The lyrics are Marks to do with as he pleases, but we do get a chance to add or take away bits and pieces, and these are things which he feels he has to get of his chest and mesh with the atmosphere of the musid which is being written, so i think that they sit well with the finished product, but yes there is room for improvement as we are only just starting out and have
along way ahead of us to evolve.

What about that upcoming MCD? I think, it’s being delayed for some time due to various reasons… am I right?

- Yes you are right, we recently lost Rick (guitar) as things weren't working out with him and so we were searching for a new guitarist and trying to write material for the MCD was a bit hard. We have replaced Rick with Frank who left LORD KAOS to join us and has been with us for around four months and has added a few ideas to the writting process which has been great, new fresh ideas with a bit of a chalange, which is what we like. Plans are set to record in September this year with the MCD released before November with all going to plan. It will have four new songs on it as well as a multimedia track which will have a bio, photos, a live clip and maybe even a few live tracks taken from the recent tour. Late January should see the the release of our first full length, both of these releases will be done on Venomus Records.

As far as I know, some say that you have one of the strongest scenes in the world over there, in Australia, others – that the country of yours is full of second class bands. What is your opinion on where Australia sits amongst scenes from other nations?

- That's a good question because i have heard many people from all over the world say that our scene is supposed to be one of the strongest in the world, which i think is great to hear, but having never seen any other countries scenes i can't compare. My personal opinion is that our scene is not a very large one, that being those who turn up every weekend to any gig just because they love there metal. In Sydney there is probably a scene of 200- 300 regulars who live for metal,  but if an international band hits our shores then a sudden influx of what we call Couch Bangers come out of the woodwork, which makes it hard for us local bands who are true to the underground. As for bands, i think we have a majority of bands who just rip off other bands so blatantly they are lucky to survive for 6 months, a few others somehow have made it huge over here and are starting to branch overseas giving the rest of the world a bad impression of our homegrown talents. But there are many fucking awesome aussie bands around, alot who are comming out of  thin air and just totally brutalising the whole scene. These bands, i personally believe, could easily take it to the best of the world wide scene and give them a run for there money. Australia is starting to get a place on the map for brutal metal!

What would you do if you saw a tortured person lying on the street… slowly dying? Would you try to save him, or, since he’s dying anyway, you’d better perform few experiments upon his (withering yet still being vital) flesh?

- Wow ummm.......... To be honest i would have to say that i would probably try my hardest to save the poor soul, but then maybe not. Thinking about what i would want if i was in that position, it would depend on the state of the flesh i guess, but i don't think i could bring myself to perform experiments on him. It would either be, try my hardest to save them or if they were to far gone i would put them out of their misery, i don't believe that any living creature should suffer, there is already enough pain and suffering in this world.

What kind of person are you, Shane? Does your image (while being a part of MISCREATION) differ from your earthly… erh, let's say ‘ordinary’ life?

- No or i hope not as MISCREATION is an avenue for me to vent my frustrations and anger, not to be someone i am not. Playing on stage and having people come up and say how much they enjoy the show and music does make you feel speacial but i think that is because they like what we have created, not the way i act or come across on stage or in a photo. I believe that i am a nice, genorous, caring person, at least i try to be, but we all can't be what we want to be all the time, though i am pretty shy but playing live and talking to people is breaking me out of that which i really appreciate.

What do you think about social, criminal and political situation worldwide and particularly in Australia? Does it either give you any creative inspiration or come from your inner self?

- I think that the world is full of shit, people try so hard to gain power over each other just so they can sit at home and wank over how they made this person do this and this person do that and how much money they made doing it and how great there new car is, fuck that! There needs to be an extreme worldwide revolution, to obliterate these people and make an example of them, Fuck politics, its all corupt anyway. Criminals should have to serve their whole sentence, none of this good behaviour shit, you do the crime you pay the time, it's just a waste of our hard earned tax money to pay the judge and jury to make a decision on the evidence given and decide on what they deserve, only to serve a quater of that time because they came
across all nice while inside.I could rave on for days about many different things, but as i said at the start, i think the world is full of shit. Yes i think that deep down because i believe this that i vent this frustration when we play live but thats about the extent of it.

Actually, I always wanted to find out an answer to this question. I mean, why the hell are you calling Australia as “Down Under”?

- I am not exactly sure about the answer to this but i think it actually came from the Australian Crawl song that we heard non stop when we won the America's Cup back in 1986 (i think). From what i have heard this was a term that they had heard whilst overseas and once they released the song the name just stuck.

What do you know (and think) regarding Russia? Any metal bands coming from our lands that you’ve heard lately?

- Unfortunately no, i haven't heard anything from Russia but i would love to as i find it interesting to hear the different styles from around the world, so any bands over there that want to trade write to us.

Here’s some place for you to tell me I’m a fucked up scumbag ;) …
