Ukrainian CASTRUM have finally unleashed their full-length debut after releasing three demos (which were later compiled on one tape). Titled "Hatenourisher", it's currently only available on cassette. The band is looking for a label that would be interested in releasing it on CD. If you dig "The Karelian Isthmus" era AMORPHIS, do check out CASTRUM!

COMMON DREAM

On the 1st of March 2001 Polish synthpop band COMMON DREAM has signed a record contract with Black Flames Records, Polish independent record label, where they are supposed to release their long awaited debut album. The release is planned for Summer 2001. There's no title for the album yet. A promotional single is to be released before the album. Konrad, Tomski and Dawid are working now on the songs, and they are planning to enter the recording studio in late spring. The band is also planning to give some promo concerts. The dates will be announced later. The cover of THE CURE's song "Bloodflowers" recorded in December appears in April on the compilation "Prayers for Disintegration - A Tribute to The Cure" released by Black Flames.

DEATH SQUAD...

... is a new dutch band formed by vocalist Mike (ex SINISTER / HOUWITSER), guitarplayer Walter (ex MANDETOR / PELIGROSSO) and with 2 other exmembers of PELIGROSSO drummer Michel and guitarplayer JG. They are still surching for a bassplayer.

At the moment they are writing new songs (8 are finished) so they can start recording their debut album later this year. Around march they will start with their first live shows in Holland and Czech Republic.

MALEVOLENT CREATION's North American tour is cancelled / postponed!! Upon returning from they're European Tour on March 1st, vocalist Brett Hoffman was arrested at U.S. Custom's for a warrant for his arrest dating back to 1995. Apparently Hoffman had a violation of probation warrant for his arrest for quite a while now,and the law unfortunately has caught up with him. This completely suck's and will leave the vocalist incarcerated for a little more than 60 day's.The tour was to begin March 31st with opener's MONSTROSITY. I believe MONSTROSITY will continue to do the tour as the headliner's now.On behalf of myself and the rest of the band, MALEVOLENT CREATION would like to appologize to all the promoter's, venue's, the band's and to our booking agency and fan's involved in making this tour happen,we cannot do this tour without vocalist Brett Hoffman,and we will re schedule a new tour for the end of summer (July, August).We are all upset about this set back,but i'm sure when we hit the road later in the summer it will be crushing!!!!

... has inked a three-albums deal with Germany's Last Episode Productions. They're going to enter the studio this Summer in order to record a followup to highly acclaimed debut CD, this time entitled "Quarite Lux In Tenebris (Exploring The External Worlds)". August / September is the release date. US' X-Rated Records still are the ones responsible for handling all promotion when it comes to the re-release of "Imperium Tenebrarum".

SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY

"A month ago we were awarded Czech GRAMMY 2000 in "hard'n'heavy" genre for our 3rd album "THEMES". It was taken by national TV, so we've appeared on TV-screen for the first time, funny, isn't it? :)
Not long after that there passed some personal changes - we had to kick off our singer Petr Stanek, so a new one as well as a new guitarist joined the band. Now the band consists of 8 members, really weird line-up :) I had to cancel all our gigs in spring, but we rehearse hard and start playing from June - we've booked several open-airs including Litomerice Dynamo North Power Jam 2001 and one big festival in Poland. I'm looking forward our live-playing again!
We prepare the new material as well. Recording of the new album is scheduled for the end of this year".

Well, it has been decided. Jimmy Scott is the new frontman for Wicked. Some of you may remember him when he played with Broadside and Climb. Wicked hopes he will bring a new light to the band with fresh ideas and a new sound. In 1992, Jimmy started his first band, BROADISE, were he was the vocalist. Later he began branching out in his music, forming the band CLIMB. Playing guitar and doing vocals in this one. CLIMB is the only band to sell as many CDs at the Heavy Metal Shop as WICKED INNOCENCE. Jimmy is looking forward to the Spring tour to California with the band.

Well, the re-recording of WOLFEN SOCIETY's mcd "Conquer Divine" is finally done. The band went back into the studio to record with engineer / producer Tommy Tagtgren of Sweden's ABYSS STUDIO. Presently, the songs are being Mixed and Mastered in Sweden. So the release should be out in the near future.

It seems that someone has down loaded the demo version of "Conquer Divine" onto Napster. WOLFEN SOCIETY does not support this! The band did not like the past recording, nor did they want the public to hear that version first. Do not judge the band on that shitty recording. Buy the new version to hear what WOLFEN SOCIETY really sounds like. And if you are the person that put the songs on Napster, we suggest you taking them off. Don't rip off the fans, let them hear the real band, not some crappy fucking demo!
