FOCKWOLF
Fockewolf is currently working on a 6 song e.p. entitled "Excommunicate", hopefully to be realeased in January. The band's sound is moving in a dark trip-hop direction. Early working titles for the tracks include 'Winter Flowers', 'Dead Romance', and 'Dark On All Fronts'. Currently the band is not playing live.

NOXIOUS EMOTION
After their brief stint as an opening act for many of the Apoptygma
Berzerk / VNV Nation live dates, NE is talking a brief hiatus from playing live to work on new music. An EP, tentatively entitled "Senses", is in the works, with a release date sometime early next 2001.

NOXIOUS EMOTION would also like to thank everyone that came out to see them perform last Septemeber - and for those that may have missed them, a possible tour in the spring of 2001 is still in the works...

THOUSHALTNOT
ThouShaltNot has two new compilation appearances, each with an exclusive track. "Cracked (coda mix)" was just released on the Subhuman compilation on Hard Disc Records (alongside ATTRITION, DIVE, BIOPSY, and DIVERJE) and ThouShaltNot's cover of THE CURE's "Pillbox Tales" appears on the monstrous 14-CD tribute to THE CURE entitled "Pink Pig". This compilation was given a full page writeup in the latest issue of Spin magazine.

TSN are nearing completion of an EP to be released this Spring on
ADSR Musicwerks. This release will be a gigantic step forward for the band. ThouShaltNot is also preparing a special European-only release for this winter. We are also working on remixes for Rhea's OBSESSION and NOXIOUS EMOTION.

APOCRYPHO
Apocrypho's "Blame" is included in the upcoming Blacklight Records' THE TIME CAPSULE 2000 BOXSET.

Lupos Sobre-Vega and Sir Warren Deacon-Wren's screenplay "Rock and Roll Radio" will be presented to Hollywood development executives, story editors, agents and producers on the exclusive industry insiders website on IFILM.COM beginning October 28. Their screenplay "Sign Language" placed in the top ten percent of the current Nicholl / Academy screenwriting contest. They are currently at work on a new screenplay.

Brian Gross, lead singer of APOCRYPHO, started working on a new album
called "The Sun" under the side-project name, FIG. 1. The album is
quickly taking shape, and he has finished five tracks already!

Three more songs were recorded during these recording sessions, the
first two being a re-recording of two old demo tracks from their '87

ANGEL'S "Perish in Flames". These tracks will most likely be used for upcoming compilations on ARCTIC MUSIC. Fast and brutal are the only two words that can describe the eleven-song release of relentless death metal! This recording showcases MALEVOLENT CREATION'S many years of musical battery. This album will also prove to be their strongest of albums to date. Release date for "ENVENOMED" for the United States is Oct. 17th and TBA for Europe. Expect to see MALEVOLENT CREATION touring extensively for this release.
- HATE PLOW, their 2nd album "The Only Law Is Survival" has just
been released. If you don't already own this slab of brutality you should kill yourself. You will not find a faster Grind album elsewhere. You can find this release at any retail music store, or order it from either Arctic Music or Pavement Music websites.
- New ARCTIC MUSIC GROUP signing KULT OF AZAZEL are preparing to enter the studio to record their debut album. The band starts recording on November 13 with producer Jeremy Staska at Studio 13. Their debut is titled "Triumph Of Fire" and will be out in the beginning of 2001.

After more than a year of silence we are "back in business" again.

Sometime during October (different date in different counties) NIFELHEIM's new cd "Servants Of Darkness" will be released. The Evil Twins 3rd release is by far their best album up to date. For a

IMPIOUS second cd "Terror succeeds" seems to be cursed!!! It was due out in May but was delayed time after time... and now the films has disappeared from the pressing company! However we don't give up. Release late November! Be sure that "Terror Succeeds" is worth waiting for! It's a crushing deat/thrash assault which speed and brutality will blow you away! IMPIOUS have made some line-up changes, they are now a five-piece: Martin who used to play guitar and sing now only sings. EBONY TEARS are back in the game again! After spending some years with DOG FACED GODS, Johnny and Conny have decided to spend their energy on E.T. again! Their second cd "A Handful Of Nothing" was more like a project for Johnny and Conny than a group effort but this time EBONY TEARS are a real band! The drummer Richard Evensand is now a permanent member and so is the new bass player Peter Kahm. The guys have spent the last couple of months rehearsing new material for the recording of their 3rd album which will take place at Studio Underground in December 2000. Release is planned for February / March '01. This new album will be a mix between their first 2 cds. The catchiness and use of the violin from "Tortura Insomniae" combined with the thrashy speed of "A Handful...". Could it be better...?

OCTOBER sees the release of 2 new albums, namely HERESIARH "MYTHICAL BEASTS AND MEDIAEVAL WARFARE" (DEMCD103) and Norway's SCARIOT "DEATHFORLORN" (DEMCD107).

In the studio, Sweden's VEIL OF SORROW have just put the finishing touches to their debut album "DARK RIVERS OF THE HEART" (DEMCD105), (sort of PARADISE LOST meets TYPE O NEGATIVE). Release is scheduled for Early December 2000.

WYKKED WYTCH have just entered the DAMAGE INC. STUDIOS in Italy, with producer KIT WOOLVEN (CRADLE OF FILTH, ANATHEMA, THIN LIZZY). This, their second album sees front woman DEMONESS IPEK reaching new boundaries with her own form of extreme metal. Expect a release around Spring 2001.

Watch out for a new album from NWBHM stars WITCHFYNDE. Featuring the
charismatic LUTHER BELTZ on vocal's, the new album hails the return of the Masters of Metal. Release is tentatively scheduled for late December 2000.

SCARIOT NEWS

Sweden's SCARIOT release their debut album "DEATHFORLORN" in October on the DEMOLITION label. Featuring DANIEL OLAISEN (Satyricon/Blood Red Throne) on guitar, and, ANDERS KOBRO (In the Woods/Carpathian Forest) on drums, this, the band's debut album is destined to be a classic. OLAISEN states "If you like Satyricon, you'll love the new album.....I've taken all the raw live energy from my days with Satyricon, and given the whole album a melody which was always close to my heart....the result, I feel, is unique....but I guess the fans will ultimately decide!!!".

DVS Records

DVS Records are proud to announce that our first release has seen daylight now, the debut album of Norwegian band SONIC DEBRIS, entitled "Velvet Thorns". Promotion for this album will start in Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, UK, Germany, Canada, and some other countries right away, in the meantime they are discussing details
with other distributions around the world. Recently DVS Records has signed a serious distribution deal with Rising Sun / Connected for Germany.

HAMMERHEART Records

NEW SIGNING: ANCIENT RITES
With the cooperation of the band's former label, ANCIENT RITES has been given leave to release their fourth studio album on Hammerheart Records. We're planning for the recording to take place in December / January with a projected street date in North America of May.

PRIMORDIAL will support IMMORTAL in Europe throughout November and December. Frontman Alain had this to say, "This time the timing was right and the problems that lay ahead with THE KOVENANT could be laid to rest. IN AETERNUM from Sweden are the opening act. Needless to say any tour is going to be an experience for us and one which we relish but right now I guess we couldn't have hoped for a better one. Some may think we will not fit with IMMORTAL but we think the match is an excellent one. A fitting contrast but truly the same pulse runs through PRIMORDIAL as a band like IMMORTAL. We shall see in
November. We are looking forward to it... and we are up for it." Check out the PRIMORDIAL feature in Metal Maniacs. It was some really nice work on Jeff Wagner's part.

AETERNUS will release a special CD, while they prepare new material for an upcoming full length. This special CD titled "Burning The Shroud" contains one new song, one unreleased track, three sold out tracks (taken from several 7"-inches and b-sides), one re-recorded track and four live songs. All this for the price of a mini-Cd! Hammerheart America intends to release it February 13th. AETERNUS just finished supporting MAYHEM on their recent tour of Europe.

THE GATHERING will release a very exclusive CD for Hammerheart Records, containing their first two demo's and their long sold out first 7". The first edition of this CD will contain a bonus disc CD-ROM with a full concert from the "Always..."-days. Limited edition Always vinyl is available through mail-order now.

REBAELLIUN are writing for their next full length as a four piece now. They will probably record this spring in Europe. Plans to issue the debut album "Burn The Promised Land" and the MCD "Bringer of War" on one CD for North and South America are being discussed.

GRAVEWORM have just recorded their third full lenght album "Scourge Of Malice" at the Austrian Noise Art Studio (BELPHEGOR, EVENFALL and others). The ten tracks features six songs, as well as an instrumental, one track with Gregorian choirs and the excellent cover-version of the IRON MAIDEN classic "Fear Of The Dark". The cover artwork is again from the famous artist Luis Royo, release date is the 29th of january 2001.

EISREGEN became with more than 10.000 sold copies of their latest "Leichenlager" album one of the most important newcomer acts in Germany. Their extreme and unique mixture of Death and Black Metal with threir typical gore lyrics made them very popular. In december there will be the first official Homevideo "Lager Leipzig" with Live tracks from their headlining show at this years Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig. Among the set-list there will be classics like "Des Heilands Haut", "Krebskolonie", "Spiel Mit Mir" and many more. The clips come with many splatter and gore effects and are not for sale under 18 years.

January will start with a great Power Metal Highlight. US Power Metal Freaks VAINGLORY will release their debut album "2050", which will be a science fiction concept story about life in future. VAINGLORY feature songwriter and guitarero Corbin King, as well as vocalist Ted Brasier (ex-LIQUID NATION), Drummer Brian Harris (KENZINER & ZANISTER), and Bass player Kevin Kekes (ex-DAMIEN). Expect an excellent Power Metal album in the vein of old METAL CHURCH meets ICED EARTH.

BELPHEGOR, one of the most extreme bands on the antichristian earth, have just released their third album "Necrodaemon Terrorsathan". In march 2001 there will be the Live album "Infernal Live Orgasm" with all classics of the band coming up.

The EP includes 4 songs of which only one will appear on the full album that will be released in early winter. HALLOWED’s EP “End Of The Age” will be released at late fall / early
winter. The EP includes 5 songs: "End Of The Age", "The Challenge", "The Chosen One", "Jesus Christ" and "New Millenium". The cover art for the album, based on the Book of Revelations, was painted by their vocalist Michael Majalahti and it looks absolutely fabulous!

Also the new Finnish Metal Compilation “The Metal Rose Collection” is on it’s way. Due to my disability vacation also that one has been delayed but it’s coming! The bands appearing on the sampler are: IMMORTAL SOULS, HALLOWED, WORSHIP FACTORY, IX SYNDICATE, CHILDREN OF LIGHT, TINNITUS, ANCHOR, ORATORIO, C-FORCE, ICON CLAN and STONER KINGS. DARK FUNERAL
DARK FUNERAL's classic "In The Sign..." MCD will at last get a full release in North America via Necropolis this Fall! This seminal masterpiece has been extremely hard to get for years and will finally be available for mass consumption for thousands of American DF fans! The band and label are both excited to present this almost-forgotten classic with new packaging and artwork and a wider distribution network to fully unleash this killer debut! The band will be putting in an appearance at the November to Dismember fest. Also, a few exclusive and additional US and CANADIAN dates will be made while the band are overseas. (See dates below)!

WOLFEN SOCIETY
The much awaited debut from WOLFEN SOCIETY has finally been recorded. These five misanthropic musicians all met up in Columbus, Ohio to record their upcoming mini-CD "Conquer Divine". On September 15th, WOLFEN SOCIETY entered THORNAPPLE STUDIOS, while many of the members were just meeting one another for the first time. The chemistry was great and the band worked well together. After all the chaos was done, the group recorded 4 songs for the new mini-CD. Songs that will be featured are "Blood Oath", "Life Is War", "Conquer Divine" and a cover of CARNIVORE's classic song "Race War". If all goes well, the

DOMINION CALIGULA
November 13th Emperor Magus Caligula and Dominion will release the debut album "A New Era Rises", from their side project simply called "DOMINION CALIGULA" on No Fashion Records. This debut recording, which exclusively contains, ultra-heavy, moody and in some ways melancholic songs, with lyrics dealing with such unexpected topics as the rise and fall of the ancient Roman Empire, seen through the eyes of a twisted and narcissistic mind, giving the lyrics almost a pornographic approach. The album was written, arranged and produced during 1999 and finally you will be able to hear the results which are uncompromising, unique sounding metal which is meant to leave scars both physically and mentally.

THE STORYTELLER
THE STORYTELLER has now a LICENSEE in Japan and America. This means the availability of the album in Japan and in the States will be improved, as not only stores which have decided to import the album will sell it. As Japan bonus track the band have decided to include an old acoustic demo from 1996. Release dates have not been decided yet, but it's not far away! Speaking of Japan; THE STORYTELLER's self-titled debut album was rated "10th best album of 2000" on a Japanese website! The song "Guardians Of Kail" was rated "14th best song of 2000". INSANIA
INSANIA are back in Sweden, after the recording session of their second album "Hymns Of Insania Part II - Sunrise In Riverland"! The new album was recorded at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki (Finland), thee same studio as STRATOVARIUS uses. INSANIA also worked with the same producer as STRATOVARIUS, Mikko Karmila. Mikko was very easy to work with, the band says. He had a lot of ideas, how to make their sound better, and how to lift up the important melodies in Insania’s music. The recording was very successful, and the album contains a total of 11 songs, whereof one is an intro. The band also recorded a bonus track, which will appear on the Japanese press only. Compared to their previous album, "Hymns Of Insania Part II - Sunrise In Riverland" has a more powerful sound. At this point of time, INSANIA doesn't have any gigs confirmed, but we will inform everyone as soon as they have any show coming up...

HAMMERFALL - On Wednesday, September 20th the video "Renegade" entered the Voxpop charts (Sweden) at Position No.1 beating out Britney Spears and various other pop acts. Metal is Back. They won with 166 points.

ORPHANAGE - The band has added a new member to its line up:
"After years of dedicated service our drummer Erwin Polderman, together with the other band members, decided to put an end to the collaboration. SOILWORK - SOLWORK entered studio DHS in Stockholmon the 11th of September to record the drum tracks for their third album (working title: "A Predator's Portrait".

STEEL PROPHET - The band has returned from their very successful tour with LEFAY, ANGEL DUST and STORMHAMMER. Some excerpts from their tour diary (written by Steve Kachinsky):

Tour Diary 2000

Well, if it isn't time to write my tour diary! Just a little bit of a foreword; touring for bands at our level is a dirty, smelly and disgusting business. The reasons for this is mostly because to keep costs down you essentially live and sleep on a bus and take showers and dine in the club you're playing in that night. Comfort varies widely! Some clubs really want to be musician friendly and provide clean showers / toilets, excellent food and comfortable dressing rooms to rest / kick back in. Most clubs don't have the facilities or the caring attitude to make it very pleasant. The negative side is offset by the necessity of it (your band will never grow very big unless you prove you can do it live), the thrill of playing live,
the excitement of travelling to new places everyday, meeting your fans, and the camaraderie you build with the other bands and your crew. When most people go to Europe for the first time the things they notice most are: warm soft drinks with no ice (right Curt?), smaller portions at restaurants, bigger glasses of beer, everyone smokes and never asks permission first, there aren't as many fat people as we have in the US, not so many people need cars, you can catch a train, bus or taxi anywhere very quickly, and there is generally a less hostile / aggressive attitude from the general public. OK, what follows are my impressions following each night's performance (usually, sometimes I was in no mood or condition to write...). I hope you're going to find it 'informative'!

August 24, Los Angeles, California -
Here I am all packed and waiting for Vince and Curt to pick me up so we can catch the shuttle bus to the LAX airport. I have a big army duffel bag full of shirts, pants, stage clothes, etc. There is actually enough stuff packed for the possibility there will be no place to do laundry on the whole tour (I know already that the Z7 in Switzerland and the Hafenbahn in Germany do have washing machines in the club, but I digress...). I have gone the disposable underwear route this time; everyday I throw away my sweaty socks and briefs
after the evening's performance. Maybe a bit expensive (about $40.00), but convenient and it lightens your bag so the return trip is a bit easier?? My guitars are in their cases and taped together so it will make only one checked bag for the airline (they only allow two, and weight and size is pretty strict). My carry on has a set of stage clothes and shampoo, etc. It has all the things I'm going to need for a few days in case my checked bags are lost. I always tell the guys to do this, but on last years trip to Wacken complacency set in and Rick and Vince were both without essentials for about two days. Finally the luggage was found and returned... Anyway, I'm picked up and we begin the hour drive to the airport, the two
hour wait for the flight, the eleven hour flight to London's Heathrow airport, the hour wait for the connecting flight to Munich, followed finally by the two hour flight to Munich and then we're there about seventeen hours later!

August 25, Munich, Germany -
We're supposed to be picked up by the tour bus, so we just need to collect our luggage and we can go... Oops, Karl's cymbals aren't there and Vince and Rick both are missing a suitcase or two! Luckily all the guitars and completely necessary instruments are there, so we fill out a luggage report and we can be on our way. We meet our bus partners STORMHAMMER who are standing around outside the bus
and are already about half way through a couple cases of Warsteiner beer. Well as we wait a little while for the possibility that the missing luggage will be in on the next flight, the boys decide it's a good time to play a little soccer in the airport parking lot... It was a good idea except for the ball denting the door of a very expensive Mercedes Benz. I'm sure no one would have reported it, but there was just one problem; the ball hit the door as the man was opening it! He wasn't about to start a ruckus with a bunch of
rowdy, drunk musicians, but he did have a handy cell phone which was all he needed to call the airport police... We're finally ready to go, and just as the bus pulls out we realize our new guitarist Jim Williams isn't on the bus! So much for our pre tour briefing
in which we told the new guys to always let someone know where you're going... We finally find him in the airport terminal, and now we can finally head toward our first gig in Glauchau, East Germany.

August 26, Glauchau, Germany -
Here's where we first meet the other two bands; ANGEL DUST and LEFAY. We also meet our tour manager Chris, and the rest of the crew - Dan (drum tech), Christer (guitar tech), Richard (soundman), Stefan (merchandise). Our drivers are Frank and Dino. Everybody seems pretty cool. Now there is one more problem though; STORMHAMMER has six people plus their own guitar tech (Heiland), STEEL PROPHET has five members. There are eleven beds on the 'Beat the Street' bus, and the driver of course needs to sleep too! One of the bands will have to split up and go on the other bus where there are eighteen beds, but who will want to do that? Well, I don't want to cause a
fuss and I figure as the 'leader' of STEEL PROPHET I should make the
'sacrifice'... OK, the other bus is just fine and better than 'Beat the Street', but I think maybe as veterans ANGEL DUST and LEFAY might have a little 'attitude', so I don't really want to go. Anyway, we have two new members so I don't want to put them both over there alone, so I take Karl with me (he speaks Swedish, so maybe it will be cool because LEFAY are from Sweden) and the other guys remain on the other bus. Well, I didn't have to worry because ANGEL DUST and LEFAY turn out to be GREAT guys! Tonight's show was OK, it was what used to be the old East Germany (behind the Iron Curtain). It was a good crowd, although a bit small (about 200). We made some mistakes that need to be fixed before the next show.

August 27, Lahr, Germany -
OK, we get here and it's like some old airforce base in the middle of nowhere. Everything is painted army green and the venue is HUGE! There is a track to run on and as I look out I see our singer Rick huffing and puffing around it while at the same time he's carrying a walkman and listening to tunes. Our guitarist Jim is at the side of the track shadowboxing a tree. What an athletic bunch we are! The backstage is great and the catered brunch is fine. Cut to the gig: oh my, what a disappointment! There is like a hundred people and they look very bored, and they don't yell much... Are we in LA?

August 28, Bochum, Germany -
Well at least we've played in Bochum before, and we kind of suspect we'll have a good crowd. Tonight is kind of important, and since we've been screwing up our last song - "Strange Encounter" for two nights in a row, we decide it's time to figure out the problem or strike the tune from the set. Our drummer Karl and I work on it and are vaguely satisfied, but not one hundred percent. We discuss it with Jim and sit down to try it with him. Jim figures out the problem and we're confident enough to play it tonight. It's a good thing too because we hear there are some press people coming (Rock Hard, etc.) so we want to be our best. There are also friends and a
guy from a management company we'd like to sign with coming...
Well, the gig went great! There were about four hundred people there and they were loud and enthusiastic. They love our set and want an encore. Uh-oh, that's a problem; we haven't actually rehearsed an encore (we completed our new album and had one week to rehearse the stage set before leaving for the tour), so we have to leave the stage, never to return... As I walk off the stage to engage in my usual after gig ritual (drink a liter of water and sit in a towel until I stop sweating) I notice I'm limping. It's probably because I swung my guitar like it was a baseball bat and I hit my thigh, oh well, it makes me feel like I'm a tough guy... ;O)
Anyway, it's a great night for all of the bands, so spirits are high once again. The party backstage is pretty raging, partly because this is ANGEL DUST's hometown, so they have a lot of friends and girlfriends backstage. This night is special for one more reason; Rock Hard Magazine (the magazine sponsoring the tour) has held a contest and the prize is to spend three nights on the tour bus traveling with us to two more gigs (OK, so I bet he'd rather have an all expense paid vacation to Tahiti, but you take what you can get). That's great. When I see the winner my eyes almost pop out of my head because I have some photos from when we played the Wacken Open Air last year and it's one of the same kids who's in front of our stage in the photos I have! His name is Jesper Reddlig and he's indeed a big fan of STEEL PROPHET!"

NECROPHAGIA - "Death Is Fun" CD. Red Stream is once again unearthing
dead music with this special re-issue of the first CD the label ever
released. The new and improved version will include 2 unreleased raw
tracks never heard before and killer sick artwork that was naturally already banned from 5 different printers. After an extensive search Red Stream finally found a printer daring enough to print "Death is Fun" CDs. NECROPHAGIA's video cut 'And You Will Live In Terror' will be released on the DVD version of the Lucio Fulci classic "The Beyond"! NECROPHAGIA has started filming a new video for the song 'They Dwell Beneath'. Once again the director is Jim Van Bebber, and the new video will be on the DVD version of "Through Eyes Of The Dead". The DVD will also include more in depth interviews with Lucio Fulci's daughter Antonella, as well as a gallery of still photos from the video and new band photos! The DVD is expected to be released in the winter of 2001.

CHILDREN OF BODOM are set to release their third disc of majestic
brutality February 6, 2001. Entitled Follow the Reaper, the latest offering was recorded and mixed at Abyss Studios in Sweden. Produced by metal mastermind Peter Tagtgren, "Follow The Reaper" promises to be one of the most highly anticipated, spine-crushing releases of the New Year. Co-producing the new effort themselves, "Follow The Reaper" includes nine brand new tracks, including a new recording of "Hate Me!" (different from the Finish platinum-selling CD-single).

Formed by guitarist / vocalist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen, CHILDREN OF BODOM set on a journey to transcend the styles and sound of any death-tinged thrash band who stood in their way. Recruiting second guitarist Ale Kuoppala, bassist Henkka Seppala, and keyboardist Janne Wirman, BODOM developed their brand of aggressive accuracy and harrowing malevolence. Upon the release of their 1998 debut "Something Wild", the band toured extensively sharing bills with the likes of HYPOCRISY, BENEDICTION, and DISMEMBER. This culminated with an explosive performance at the high-profile Wacken Open Air Festival securing their Euro reputation as prime purveyors of punishment on stage and off. The band's second release, "Hatebreeder", churned more forceful tunes exhibiting COB's technical precision and catchy, Euro-metal edge. Well-received by fans, the disc spawned the hit single, "Children of Bodom", which infiltrated the top spot on the official Finnish charts for several weeks. Appearing for the first time in the U.S. at this year's prestigious Milwaukee Metal Fest, CHILDREN OF BODOM awed fans and first-time listeners alike with their absorbing onslaught. Monopolizing the bill on the Necropolis stage, the band exceeded expectations, proving to be one of the most intense crowd pleasers of the entire fest.

The latest single of the band "HATE ME" just reached PLATINUM (= 10 000 copies sold !!!) in their native Finland, so this far all COB singles have reached gold status in their home country.

The first US tour for CHILDREN OF BODOM is scheduled for April 2001.

WARMEN (LAKE BODOM/FIN)
The COB keyboardist JANNE WIRMAN's solo project WARMEN's debut album "UNKNOWN SOLDIER" will be released in Japan by TOY?S FACTORY on the 23rd of August 2000. The European release date for the WARMEN debut album will be the 4th of September 2000.

NIGHTWISH (KITEE/FIN)
NIGHTWISH just finished their successful South American tour, where
the band played in Brasil, Argentina, Panama, Chile and Mexico.
Rightafter the SA tour the band played two succesfull shows in Europe, at WACKEN festival and at BIEBOB, Belgium. In September 2000 NIGHTWISH will start their second tour of Finland for "WISHMASTER" album and October will see the start of their first headlining European tour with SINERGY and ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW as guests. Late October the band will fly over to Canada for three gigs. Shows in Japan and Korea will happen in January 2001. NIGHTWISH already reached gold status (20 000 copies sold) in Finland with their latest album "WISHMASTER".

SONATA ARCTICA (KEMI/FIN)
The guys have already recovered from their massive debut Euro tour with STRATOVARIUS and RHAPSODY, and will release a new brilliant seven-song MCD, "SUCCESSOR", in early October 2000. The MCD will be released for GSA by CENTURY MEDIA and by MARQUEE INC. for Japan.
The band will start the recordings of their second studio album in early January 2001 and the album will be released in July the same year. Recordings will once again take place at TICO-TICO STUDIOS, Kemi, Finland, and the album will be mixed and mastered at FINNVOX STUDIOS, Helsinki, Finland, again by Mr MIKKO KARMILA, the # 1 Finnish (European ?) metal producer.

THE BLACK LEAGUE (OULU/(FIN)
THE BLACK LEAGUE will enter the studio for the recordings of their
early February 2001 MCD release "DOOMSDAY SUN". The MCD will feature four new tracks + a cover version of NICK CAVE track. Their debut album "ICHOR" was licensed to NUCLEAR BLAST for Europe, North America and Canada.

BARATHRUM (backwoods/FIN)
The Kings of Finnish war metal, BARATHRUM, will release their sixth
studio album "OCCULT" on SPINEFARM on the 18th of September.
In 2001 SPINEFARM will also re-release the first three (3) BARATHRUM
albums that were earlier put out by the German NAZGUL'S EYRIE
PRODUCTIONS. All the re-releases will be remastered & repacked and will possibly feature some unreleased bonus tracks. Hail Sova !!

ENSIFERUM (HELLSINKI/FIN) & CHARON (RAAHE/FIN)
New SPINEFARM signings for 2001 are CHARON and ENSIFERUM, both from
Finland. Melodic metallers CHARON have released two albums on the
Danish DIEHARD MUSIC before signing to SPINEFARM. ENSIFERUM play power viking metal in the vein of EINHERJER and have only recorded a couple of demos earlier.

TO/DIE/FOR (KOUVOLA/FIN)
The Finnish goth metallers TO/DIE/FOR will tour Europe with IN
FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY and SENTENCED in September-October 2000. After the tour the band will complete the recordings of their forthcoming second studio album, which will be released by SPINEFARM/NUCLEAR BLAST in early 2001.

THRONE OF CHAOS (FIN)
THRONE OF CHAOS debut album "MENACE & PRAYER" will be released in
Japan on the 23rd of August by MARQUEE INC. The album got killer review in the Japanese hard rock bible BURRN; 90 / 100 ! New album out on SPINEFARM in 2001. This band will be following COB on the top of the melodic black / death throne !!!

THE DEAD BEGINNERS (FIN)
THE DEAD BEGINNERS (ex-AUTUMN TEARS) from Finland just released their new album "SINNER`S REBELLION". The band were earlier called AUTUMN TEARS and they released one album on the German SOLISTITIUM RECORDS.
"SINNER'S REBELLION" features the best songs of their albums # 2 & 3, that were never released. Not too complicated ?

RAM-ZET (NOR)
RAM-ZET from Norway are the latest SPIKEFARM signing. Their debut album "PURE THERAPY" will be released in late September 2000. The band play avantgarde black metal in the vein of COVENANT (NOR) "NEXUS POLARIS" album, but are a lot heavier. The album was recorded in Norway and mixed in
Finland at FINNVOX STUDIOS by MIKKO KARMILA.

THYRANE (FIN)
THYRANE, the new Kings of Finnish black metal, will release their second album in October 2000. The album will be their first one to SPIKEFARM and was recorded at legendary TICO-TICO STUDIOS, Kemi, Finland.

ENTWINE (FIN)
The Finnish goth / doom metallers ENTWINE got a new vocalist and are
will be releasing their second, yet untitled, album on SPIKEFARM during mid-November 2000.

KALMAH (FIN)
KALMAH is the side project of ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW guys and they
play fast & technical death / black. The debut album "SWAMPLORD" will be out in mid-November 2000, recorded at TICO-TICO STUDIOS.

FINNTROLL (FIN)
The World Champions of Finnish humppa-black metal, FINNTROLL, will
hit the black metal scene in the forehead with their second studio album in February 2001. You have been warned !!! The humppa/black throne belongs to FINNTROLL !!!
