"III: The End Of Ages", a third album by PAZUZU, has been unleashed by Avantgarde some time ago… Anything you'd like to tell us in regards to that CD? What is the principal concept and bias (both, musical and lyrical) behind it (if there's any)?

- This is buy far the most personal album I have ever recorded. I moved away from the pure fantasy concept to a more spiritual quest. I have recorded an album filled with my most inner visions. The main concept I suppose is the impending end of the world as I view it. The music and lyrics interact and shape a higher substance. Everything just came about the way it was meant to be.

PAZUZU endured pretty big number of changes during last couple of years: it goes for the record company, lineup… well, the music itself… and finally, the country of residement! What caused each of them? You know, it strikes as PAZUZU is an utterly diffirent band now!

- Well, when we released our first album on HNF (Head Not Found - ED), we were still young and inexperienced. Thankfully, the HNF period was very fruitful and successful, and I thank anyone involved to this day. To tell you the truth, DMR (Dark Matter Records - ED) was a great step back for PAZUZU and me as a person. I worked for this label, more or less for free, they ripped me off and went bankrupt. Lately I have been hearing that they have a webpage up again… I am absolutely furious about that. I relocated to Canada for numerous reasons, one of them being the search for something new. I then signed to Avantgarde and am now more than ever concentrating on my music.

Getting deeper into the subject… well, this is not actually a question… I kinda assume… - Head Not Found… Dark Matter… Avantgarde… What's next???

- I am absolutely 100% satisfied with Avantgarde and their work, I won’t be going anywhere!

Why did it turn out the way that PAZUZU became a one-man band?

- PAZUZU has been a one man band more or less since "Awaken The Dragon". Both Silenius and Protector were very busy with their projects. They only contributed minimal parts to that album. Due to the geographical distance I am now a 100% one man project. But that is the way I want PAZUZU to enter the year 2000…

Man, I feel I should tell you that "The End Of Ages" cover really impressed me! Where did you take it? Furthermore, it looks more like a sculpture's photo, not a handmade picture… Am I right?

- In fact Roberto from Avantgarde came up with that picture. On the album there is a slight blue filter over it, it looks even better!

Would you like to tell us anything of Dark Matter Records? I doubt if it's a serious label… more like a studio where you've begotten "Awaken The Dragon" CD… Eh?

- Richard the guy that ran it, pissed many people off and ripped me off… He is a useless piece of thrash. I will say no more.

I've heard plenty of bands writing their lyrics in Norwegian, German, Italian, Swedish, French, but the lyrics in three languages simultaneously is something new to me, no doubts! Are they really in English, French and German or it's just the song titles?

- No, I am really fluent in those languages. I makes the whole thing more intersting to me!

You have one more band of yours, called RAVENTHRONE, with an absolutely killer album behind it… There're two ways to perceive it, either as a project only or a group "of full value", equal to PAZUZU… and I wonder which way is right?

- Thanks for the compliment… It has the same value to me as PAZUZU. Although I write music for both bands differently. I am currently working on RAVENTHRONE II… The music will be in a similar vein... but different.

Are you going to stay a one-man band for all eternities to come…? Wouldn't it be easier to invite few supplementary musicians in order to enrich the sound? Also, I wonder if you have performed any gigs and, if so, are you alone on the stage while playing live?

- Like I said, PAZUZU will stay a one man project… I can focus better on the music and emotions that way… I don’t need any other musicians, I compose everything on synths.

What about the principal idea behind your band? Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, Trifixion (who participated in the recording of "… And All Was Silent" CD) supports the N/S views in some ways - consequently please tell us more on this subject…

- Nah, Trifixion has long left the music scene. He never supported anything. PAZUZU is the incarnation of my inner conflict and despair. It is like a poison that slowly infects the mind. I see PAZUZU as the never silent voice that speaks to me from inside. Insanity, fear and anguish.

I've heard some rumours telling that LEGION OF DOOM (from Greece) had huge problems with the "Kingdom Of Endless Darkness" distriburion due to that Swastika sign… Have you heard anything concerning it? Also, I wonder if your band ever endured the same kind of troubles?

- No, I am in no way political. That has nothing to do with my music. I am afraid I don’t even know LEGION OF DOOM…

Do you know anything regarding Russia? Any metal band coming from our band that you've heard lately?

- I know you have many very talented prog metal bands. Excellent musicians. But to tell you the truth, you don’t hear much about Russian bands in Canada! Anything you would recommend? I like SKYFORGER from Latvia!

Well, Ray, the time has come for you to fill in these lines with your final words…

- This was a very interesting interview… Thanks a lot and keep the flame burning! Hail Armageddon!
