PERVERSIST, INTERVALLE BIZARRE, OIL,
THE OATH and SKINLESS

live at The Frontline (Gent, Belgium)
on 13th of September 2000 a.t.b.b.

PERVERSIST (CZ) had to open that gig for only a few people, but they did a great show. Their grinding death sounded a bit all the same in the beginning, but after a few songs there was more and more variation in the tracks. The music changed a bit from grind to brutal death in the vein of CANNIBAL CORPSE with some melodic influences and extreme growling.
INTERVALLE BIZARRE (CZ) (bizzare.snuff.abro@centrum.cz) played technical death metal with deep and extreme kinds of growling and some screams. Their stuff appeared as rather complicated ones with a lot of breaks and weird tempo changes. In the whole, it was great, although sounding too difficult for comprehension and due to that reason they didn't impress the visiters. A pity, indeed.
OIL (NL) is a kind of old school hardcore band, and honestly speaking, I didn't pay enough attention to them. Also the sound was pretty bad. They played very intensive and devoted, but I didn't hear it in the music.
THE OATH (NL / US) play power violence. I'm not into that kind of music and after a couple of songs I had the feeling I heard just all the same. The sound was good and they played very intensive, though.
SKINLESS (US) play brutal death / grind. And they were the ones that whom I'll definitely keep recalling for a long time. The band played with a total devotion and with a lot of expression. The sound was perfect and it sounded as a brutal wall of power and aggression.
