ROSSOMAHAAR, BUTTERFLY TEMPLE, SIMONIA,
MARTIAL ART etc.,

live at the BESTIAL ATTACK black metal fest ("Rasputnik", Moscow)
on 6th of November 2000 a.t.b.b.

Yet another fest, this time a bit more successful than MUSICA.MUST.DIE, however unfortunately held at the same place as before, i.e. at "Rasputnik" club.
I was really upset that evening (can't really recall why, at the moment), therefore I was obviously drunk all the time, hence the memories are few (thank gods, at least "few"!). Nevertheless, let's try to bring back that evening's recollections.
(Once again, obviously) I don't remember who was the first one, the second one, the thousandth one, and so on and so forth, consequently let's better judge the bands' performances in no particular order.
ROSSOMAHAAR. Ok ok, it's the band I take part in, therefore can I really compose anything but a subjective review? Well, it was really cool, with Alex (a.k.a. Ixxaander (guitars)) seemingly to be frontman that evening, screaming out various proclamations and stuff, whilst Lazar (the mastermind behind ROSSOMAHAAR) was the one just to play music (and chasing the microphone... ;) it strikes as I already said that "Rasputnik" is a shitty place).
SIMONIA. Definitely the best black metal act ever emerged from the city of St. Petersburg. They weren't so great live, though. I guess, "Rasputnik's" stage, equipment and sound engineer once again are the ones to be blamed in all the mortal sins. The crowd wasn't really enthusiastic due to obvious reasons. Nor was Nimroth (bass, vocals) when I was talking to him, once they've left the stage. Anyway, I'd be glad to see them playing live in Moscow once again.
MARTIAL ART... A weird moniker, isn't it? Especially taking into account the fact it was a black metal band (emerging from Yaroslavl')... I can't recall anything really special or outstanding, when it comes to these chaps, with an exception for their appearance (a couple of corpse-painted skinheads and a I've-just-finished-my-studies-at-the-conservatoire sort of girl behind the keyboards. Well... stylistically, MARTIAL ART deliver pretty enjoyable sympho-black metal featuring weird orchestrations and precise drumming. Good enough for a start.
Wondering what BUTTERFLY TEMPLE's performance was alike? Well, honestly speaking, I wasn't the one to get high on it, you see. Rather mediocre, and even a bit ridiculous when it comes to their appearance (sorry, but that's simply indescribable...). Enough good for unpretentious listener, however, as you already probably guessed, I'm not one of those.
Well, there were a couple of bands taking part in "Bestial Attack" that night, however I can't recall ANYTHING regarding them, perhaps due to the fact me and Orrkh were fraternizing with a flock of skinheads outside the club.
