BLACK LIGHT
Winter 2002, #14
rating: - / -
I wonder why the
hell do I keep on reviewing Black Light’s issues as Alex and co. spit ‘em
forth the underground? Everything must have been already said before… and
yes, it’s just the same old thing. Inties (Attila Csihar, NON OPUS DEI,
ANCIENT, HADES ALMIGHTY, NIGHTWISH, NOVEMBERS DOOM, CASUS BELLI, MENHIR,
etc.), tabs, some reviews and an article on sex and metal. Spanish-written.
Pro-printed. Unobtainable unless 5 Euros have been paid. Worth checking
out.

FATAL FORUM Newsletter
September 2001, #2
rating: 4 / 6
Not bad. Nor outstanding,
though. This is a 20-pages newsletter featuring GRENOUER, IZAKARON, SCRAMBLED
DEFUNCTS, BURIAL SHADES, Andrew Man (the mastermind behind Belarus’ “M”
magazine), AURUM, SCAVENGER, ABSIDIA, BLOOD SPITTING, DEATHONATOR, MISTWEAVER,
BOG MOROK, TESSARACT, REINCREMATION, PSILOCYBE LARVAE, MORTEM, MISCREANT,
LOST ABBEY, DATURA (all of Russia’s origin) and ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW
(well… you know). The interviews I just mentioned above, are mostly too
short. Some utterly lack sense (check out the one with LOST ABBEY in order
to learn I tell no shit), some are nearly excellent. Furthermore, the guy
at Fatal Forum couldn’t pass on reviews… which are good, by the way. Since
this is only a newsletter, I guess rating it with ‘4’ out of ‘6’ won’t
be too much of a praise.

GAZE INTO A GLOOM
Issue One, June 2001
rating: 5,5 / 6
Highly enjoyable
reading this time. Gaze Into A Gloom is a magazine solely devoted to a
gloomier kind of music, such as, for instance, dark ambient and minimal
electro. Hence, here you have in-depth interviews with KIRLIAN CAMERA,
INSTITUT, LEUTHA, WHITEHOUSE (what about BLACKHOUSE, huh? ;)) and RAISON
D’ETRE, as well as certain amount of reviews and live reports – enough
comprehensible ones, thanks god in hell. Everything comes in the shape
of pro-printed mag, reading pleasure of which ends at 63rd page. A5 format,
by the way. Generally speaking, “highly recommendable”. Doubtlessly one
of the best editions I ever reviewed. Unique must be the word.
