Hail to thee... What are you up to now with SOILS OF FATE?

- We´ve just recorded our debut CD entitled ”SANDSTORM”, seven tracks of pounding abuse. Check it out!!!

Why does "Blood Serology" contain three tracks only? Especially, taking into account the fact these are the short ones... Did you have a limited studio time or what?

- Honestly we had a difficult time to write good songs and we figured that so much time had passed since "Pain Has A Face" so we had to enter the studio with what we had at that time.

What about Henke's grunts? You see, his voice sounds almost inhuman to my ears! How did he manage to growl like that? Did he specifically train his voice or something?

- He´s been growling since he was like 16 so he has developed a very personal sound. It´s about techique and he´s had it for as long as I can remember.

Even though your lyrics appear as rather violent, they don't have much to do with typical gory images death metal bands are well known for applying to. Speaking plainer, they're somehow different. What mostly gives your inspiration while writing lyrics? Are they important to you or it's just the singer who needs words to spit out?

- Well, Henke writes the lyrics so he should answer that. But as far as I know he gets alot of inspiration from serialkillers and stuff like that. We´ve never wanted to be a goreband therefore we don´t write those kind of lyrics. There´s a little more thought behind em´.

What is Empty Vein Music? Let me assume it?s a small label / distro of your own, the one founded to spread SOILS OF FATE stuff? Am I right?

- Actually it´s a kind of protection or copyright here in Sweden so people won´t rip us off.

"Highest in the hierarchy of blasting sickness" is the slogan you put inside the "Blood Serology" booklet... Erh, seems like modesty doesn't appear as one of your advantages, does it?

- Not really Haha, we said from the beginning that we would lay it on good and spread a lot of shit. We know that we kick ass and we´re not the ones who will try to hide it.

Your thanks list features "Kev and Jason in DYING FETUS" whom you thank for "the great time down in DK"... Would you like to make any comments?

- We met em´ in Copenhagen (Denmark) at their show with DERANGED in '98. They were really cool and down to earth guys, we had a blast.

Do you listen to anything besides death metal? Some classical music,
perhaps??

- Sure, we like all sorts of stuff like Yngwie Malmsteen, FIREHOUSE, Mike Tramp, EMINEM, Bach, Albinoni + some other cool stuff.

Could you please tell us few words in regards to "Pain... Has A Face" demo? Was it much different from "Blood Serology"?

- Yeah, "Blood Serology" is faster, heavier and overall better songs. In short, a more extreme recording.

I've heard the first CD by SOILS OF FATE is being prepared at the moment? What about that? Will it be a self-released one?

- No, a American label will release it. The deal is not closed yet so we like to keep a low profile for a while.

What do you know (and think) regarding Russia? Any metal bands coming from our lands that you've heard lately?

- Sorry but I can´t say that I have. I don´t know anything about Russia except that you like vodka and Borsjt (Did I spell that right???) (no :)) - ED)
