Kai (K): To start with, why haven't you contrived to enrapture a certain record company with this music of yours, in order to unleash "Utopia" NOT independently?
- The foremost reason is that we did not
knew at the time the "how and where?". We were young , inexperienced and
had no clues about the suitable procedures to approach a record company.
Reason #2: We wanted to try our chances independantly for a short time
in our homeland (Quebec) before trying exportating it internationally for
there was no haste. Now for number 3 : Being slightly naive and uninformed
about the music industry, we trusted someone who was SUPPOSED to make contact
with labels, give them the cd and take the matters in his hands.....alas,
he left us with great hopes and we never had any feedback from this man.
As of now..... we have acquired more experience dealing with the intervenants
and are currently giving birth to new material....waiting for answers (anyway,
everybody tell us that labels are always long to give their impressions
to a band who's at its first effort.) In the meantime, we don't lose our
time and do what we can to promote uneXpect by ourselves.....I think that
for beginners, we have good results.
K:
Am I mistaken supposing that UNEXPECT is a relatively young combo? If so,
would you be so kind to enlighten us upon the past days of the band you're
taking part in?
- You couldn't be nearest to the ultimate truth Kai ! All utopians in this band is between 19 and 22 years old. The album has been recorded when we were 16-20 years old...It sure has been a little while. uneXpect began its travel in the year 1996 when the only current members in the formation were Artagoth (strings / troll) and Zircon (anchor). In this period, the music was downright trash / speed metal influenced by american acts like METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and DEATH. The first part of the metamorphosis came with the arrival of Syriak (strings / goblin) and Lunorin (earthbeat). From this day onward, the influences changed for a European selection of recently discovered bands like DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, IN FLAMES, AT THE GATES, DISSECTION, etc. Finding a huge lack of textures and diversity and feeling restrained by only a mere 4 instruments, we approached 3 of our friends who were the next step in our evolution process. Now with a violin, keyboard and faerie singer, a little orchestra was born as we reshaped our songs to integrate the new members just before the recording. (That's the reason they're not as present on "Utopia"....the future will reveal them in all their glory !)
K: And yet one more supposition: I believe, "Utopia" is a kind of conceptual CD, taking both lyrical canvas and fantastical artistic execution. Any comments on that?
- The basis of our conceptual attitude,
in overall, is to dwell on fantasy, dreams and the infinite kingdom of imagination.
In "Utopia", each storyteller ( four of us wrote the lyrics...) had his
own vision of a fantastic journey, personas and litterary approach
to share with the listener. So, in that way, we could encourage the Individual
efforts of each dreamer. We're painting on a canvas, but to really have
a splendid result, you must explore the many colors residing in everybody.
I, for myself, believe in the power of individual work for a collective
large englobing idea, using personal tools to achieve the same goal
( in the case of a music
band...sure...). We could say the album
is a multiverse and each song is defined as individual facets-worlds (except
"Vespers Gold" and "The Fall Of Arthrone" which are a chronology...) or
personal lyrical dimension. Since we're aesthetic-hungry and originality-craving,
we wanted to create something pleasing to the eyes (within our very limited
budget...), and with two members in the band being art students, the ambiance
was perfect. If our subjects often treat on sorcery, strange creatures
and non-existing places, it is because of our past as role-playing fan.
Anything fantastic captivates our mind, be it in movies, books, pictures,
animations or video games. Dungeons and Dragons shaped our lives and characters
in our youth so it is the normal step to talk about anything that interest
us. On the same line of thought, I believe in all possibilities....
so magik's one of them. I never saw lightning bolts coming out from the
outstretched fingers of anyone or anything that proves IT does exist, but
I think that hope in believing in something that pleases us is a better
way of passing life. Anyway the "real" magic resides in the mind of everybody
and it is called : Creation....
K:
Furthermore, the coverart makes me to recall the horrifying short stories,
those of H.P.Lovecraft…
- We're not extremely knowlegable about
the work of Lovecraft......I read some short stories too but not his lifework
about Chtulhu and his theories about the Ancients. As of our coverart,
it is part of the plan to escape reality since it is not really connected
to any known landscape....(space is familiar, but not with a great ghoulish
vessel sailing it). It is exactly the ambiance we wished the listener to
feel, hearing the intro of the album, and anyway, it has been inspired
by the songs "Vespers Gold" and "The Fall Of Arthrone". Since space and
it's extraplanar dimensions is considered a kind of gateway to reach all
infinities, it was a good medium related to imagination and it's boundless
possibilities. The ship could symbolize the soultravel we have listenig
music (and since the observer watching the cover is IN the ship, it's a
kind of invitation to travel with us...) and the ghostly apparition is
a fading old nomad observer of wonders. Drifting independance.... We could
say that the vessel (Utopia) and it's occupant(s) is a baggage...holding
memories of the past, telling of different parts of it's travel. Moreover,
it's a good analogy with our history, since this album is a chronology
of our evolution.
K: Why have you
decided to compose "Utopia's" verses in two languages simultaneously? For
instance, even if I'm fluent in a couple of languages, I don't know a word
in French. And so are many of those who have purchased "Utopia"…
- The first simple reason is that the first thousand copies were supposed to be a special version for french fans. Since Utopia is not yet available in other countries ( except via internet ), we're still discussing if we'll print a total english version or leave it like that. After all, our country (Quebec is the last bastion of french language in America and we find our native tongue rich, powerful and substancially poetic. So it is normal we wanted to use it as a medium of personal creation. Those who are really interested in our verses will find a way to translate them by themselves I'm sure. Moreover, it is a good mental exercise to do research on unknown sentences, promoting culture in the same time. I know english has been chosen as the international common ground, but we're not yet extremely at ease using Shakespear's tongue, having no occasion to practice our skills in the little outskirt towns we live in (except when answering interviews :). Anyway, if we are eventually signed on a label, chance is that the choice of the prementioned discussion will no longer be in our decisional rights.
K:
Do you really appear as the ones acquainted with musical theory? Any significant
memories regarding your studies that you'd like to recall?
- The dreamers of uneXpect are four in number
to possess a 7 years long classical formation (three on piano, one on violin).
A formation which ended in their
youth at the secondary school (13-14 years old). Lunorin, Syriak and Merzenya
share the keyboard creation's process and le bateleur operate his melancoljig
stick with passion. We've learned much but forgot as well, because honestly.........we
really don't care about too much theory as other musicians. As long you
know your instrument as a lover the rest will follow by itself. It's about
PASSION and experimentation, whatever form it may takes !!! Melancoly,
anger, sadness, joy, psychose...... all is in the moment intensity. What
I mean is that we don't build or think thoroughly a
song, we feel it. When, for exemple, I
compose, I don't ask myself questions on minor scales or flat E augmented
arpeggios, I just don't care!! I let the music flow through me as a magical
current and the results are far more satisfying to me than mathematical
and logical construction, which are the consequences of too much Reason.
I prefer her brother Sub-Conscious ..... Interesting note to know, the
guitars and drum in the band have been mastered by self-learning and personal
exercises ( a couple of courses that's all...)
K: What is your opinion on atonal way of composing various musical works of art? Have you ever heard anything in regards to so-called "twelve-tone" technique (developed by Arnold Schoenberg in the early 1900's)?
- It rings in my ears: illogic, unconventional......
I love it !! I think every possibilities of creation concering music
is a valid one since it is so personal and intuitive. The fact of not following
the usual tonal modes and breaking the "rules" by creating discordant and
inharmonious sounds is not a method we used in the past, but is one I experiment
for sure in my surrealist frenzies. It sure is more present in contemporary
music, but metal is so evolutive as a musical genre that I'm sure it's
just a question of time before this composing pattern install itself deeply
in the cerebral pattern of these musicians too. I find disharmony beautiful
in it's strangeness, there's a kind of special power to its unforseeability
that is so intense and PRESENT.... you can't pass by imperturbate. As for
Mr.Schoenberg, I must say I never heard
of him in my studies or elsewhere as a fact. Is he muscled ?
Felix
(F): Where had Elda studied singing? I'm strongly convinced that she doesn't
possess a usual kind of soprano or whatever. A jazz academy, perhaps?
- I really think you will be surprised with
that answer...To be unpredictable is anyway one the best human trait. Elda
never went to a musical school and surely not to a jazz academy. She learned
to craft her ethereal voice in the basement of a little house on our countryside
under the tutelage of an unknown retired chant lady professor. On the basis
of 1 course a week on aproximately 5 years, she sang for her own pleasure
and boarded our ship when she was only 15 year old....
K: Who's that
Frederic Ruel (secret member of the UCBMP), the one mentioned in the thanks
list of yours? Besides that, what do you imply under that "UCBMP" abbreviation?
- Laughs, jests and insides are one of our many hedonistic pleasures. This is a huge inside between a friend of ours and the band. Sorry to tell you the truth (I would have prefered to create a story based on this mysterious man but..... truth is what we seek here...) Lo ! and behold the horrid reality behind this enigmatic persona shrouded and cloaked in secrecy....wishing only to be left alone in in his mortal frame.....there it is : UCBMP stands for UneXpect Clan Borrowing Money Plan. He is a secret friend investissor who came to us in our times of need ( we're REALLY not fortunate! ) to help us lighten the burden of payments. End of story............. He lived a long life, married an alien, became pregnant at the age of 74 and currently aspire to be a WWF superstar ! :)
K: Let me assume that you get high on fantasy literature and RPGs. Would you consider such a supposition correct?
- The majority of us has been living and breathing on fantasy and surrealist thoughts for the better part of our lives. It is when we are in the reconforting arms of imagination and the unreal that we feel the most at home ( we're relatively solitary figures each of us...). I've seen so much beauty and marvels in fantastic representations or in my mind that when my eyes collides with the sad reality, my soul wants to cry out in pain. Modern structures, pollution, faceless individuals (a world of clones), capitalism..... I could enumerate so much things I would ban from my ideal ( if I really have one...). The transcendances we use are just to escape partially this reality for mere moments. Since our young ages we've been reading stories about surreal medieval worlds, incredible creatures and the domain of the unknown so fascinating. Playing RPGs are just another manner to be what we would want to be in another world. Impersonating characters is so imaginative, constructive and fun......for in these moments you forgot all about your everyday life, job and responsabirealities. We're not all fanatics to the same levels, but I think we all share the trait of the love of travelling spiritually, must it be in reading, drawing, dreaming or listening / playing music. For these reasons, we experience some difficulties being ourselves in public, our internal facet being so developed that it seems to be restrained by the limitation of human communication. I'd rather write all interviews than communicating directly with medias....
K
/ F: If you wasn't a man, whom would you prefer to be? Or in whose form
would you like to be reincarnated if this life isn't the last one we live?
Sorry, but we're talking about mythological creatures only (elves, orcs,
dragons and such).
- First, le bateleur's choice of reincarnation
: A TreeEnt ! For the uninitiated, it is a blend between a tree and a wiseman.
A race of
LONGlived being in total harmony with nature
feeding off the ground on which it rests. Accumulating and contemplating
the universal knowledges in a peaceful and gentle way. Lunorin would be
an Archangel..... for its supreme beauty, powerful personality, the pleasure
and liberty of flying between the planes and.........knowing what
an Archangel is, there's no reasons not wanting to be this divine being.
Artagoth would prefer live as a Troll Magic-User.....So brutal and strong,
yet cunning and ugly.....The use of magic is of course the main attraction
to this beast. Death metal screams always made me think of troll warchants.....I,
Syriak, would be delighted to take on the traits of a winged and goodwilled
Dark Elf. I know that ,usually, these beings are evil and landbased but
if I am marginal in this reality, I would'nt be otherwise reincarnated.
The ebony splendor of this fragile, graceful and mystic icon is one of
the many reasons to choose this magic using persona, living in an enchanted
forest instead of abyssmal caverns. For his part, Zircon has made the wise
choice of a mimic ( or doppelganger ). Since these creatures can emulate
the form of almost all living beings, the liberty of choice is far greater
than any others......there are certain limitations however....liberty has
its price.... Elda has the most enigmatic choice. Given the possibility
of being anything she could dream of, she would still prefer to remain
human ! The only thing she would change is her environment.....transformed
into an utopic enchanted landscape. Finally, the last and not the least
is Merzenya's choice : his love of monstrous creatures pushed him to choose
a gargoyle ! Passing the day in a immuable stone form, overseeing his territory....pondering,
watchful......and soaring away in the majestic nightsky when the sun dies.........
K: Haven't you
ever dreamt of travelling into the outer realms, and
therefore, discovering
certain kind of second reality, the one which doesn't have anything to
do with any vital beings?
- If you speak of astral projection, it is for sure a phenomena that we crave avidly for. I tried many times but nearly succeeded only one time. I got the impression of being pulled out of my corporal body and was seeing two version of myself in my chamber. One on my bed, another floating ( my perception ) and the other crouched in a corner, throwing apples ?!? at an invisible entity in my doorarch. Sounds strange but it didn't seems like a normal dream..... anyway, speaking of second reality, everybody can travel his own outer realm. The brain and the images it generates is one,for it is part of the non-concrete. Just take for exemple when someone is "not there" (in the moon, as we say here...), a lunatic moment when you're body does'nt exist anymore and only the mind is active but by the inside....an exterior intrusion is repulsed and pass without yourself being conscient of it. The huge problem we got, us pitiful humans, is our eyes ( even if necessary to see beauty ). When open, they restraint our senses and ability to conceive things without having to judge by the visual information we receive by the occular globes. As for other outer realms, dimensionally speaking, if it exists, nobody can conceptualize it because we talk of things unknown we don't have any notions of. But if we find our way there.....I think We'll go for a long long trip......if it is not too boring of course ( we ARE fun loving creatures !! ).The kingdoms we create in our own minds are already vast enough to spend a lifetime exploring anyway......
F:
"Fourth dimension". An intriguing phenomena, isn't it? Real? Unreal? Surreal…?
- The phenomena is indeed intriguing since it is of a completely different nature than the other three. The understanding of time as a dimension (We assume you are refering to "this" fourth dimension...) is difficult to assimilate for it is so inconcrete comparatively to width, length and depth which are measurable in a visible way. It can be seen as a never-ending flow of information passing by our cerebral paths and leaving little markers on its road toward a supposed infinity...( individually speaking). On a more global approach, I definitely think there is a kind of invisible " force field " acting as a passageway for a distorted version of past particles and radiations.... Eventually, scientists will find a way for sure to travel these particles, thus allowing us to go back in time in a near future.... ( Ah! Paradoxal, is it not ? ) Past travel could be possible, for it has existed before....The future is only suppositions on given facts and analysis of things past, so I don't know if we could really venture there. Others in the band think of it more in a dimensional manner, as a plane of existence that couldn't be bigger in terms of infinity than the actual universe.....even if we are just hypothetical ignorants.....
K: What is "knowledge" as well as the "absolute knowledge" to you, and what is the principal difference between these two rather similar notions?
- Knowledge, in definition, should be the
entire collection of memories, thoughts, residual visual parcels imageries,
informations, ideas, notions and such impregnated by the brain of an individual.
All this without any care about the wideness and range of informations
a being possess. The simple of mind,as the scholar, possess knowledge,
even if it is erroneous, it is still knowledge. Perception should not be
a factor if we talk of knowledge in its pure form. Absolute knowledge,
if you refer to the fact of knowing all that is to know, is impossible.
The brain and the power of the imagination will always be able to create
something new the supposed
"perfect being" could not fathom. Absolute
knowledge ( if existing ) would be extremely boring due to the lack of
mysteries our lives would miss. The Human nature NEEDS to wonder, question
and imagine.....without any real cares about the facts. The closest thing
to absolute knowledge there can be is to know that were limited and that
finally............ we know nothing.
K: Is there any
way for you to conceive a perfect dreamland? Personally I doubt if mankind
will ever attain anything that could be considered "perfect", nevertheless
how would you make an "utopia" out of Earthly existence, and make all of
this planet's inhabitants to make one and only right decision, like "this
is what we desired for oh so long!"?
- An utopia ( the organization system )
is so personal that it is impossible to conceive THE perfect solution for
everyone. For some people, murder is completely acceptable, for others
every woman on earth should be bisexual (hmmm...) and the other will tell
you that world peace should be attained by meditating headdown with a carrot
in your nose. So it is evident that no system of existence could be accepted
by an entire population, except if we brainwashed them all, but that would
be the loss of the individuality we so
cherish. If there was a dreamland to create, the
sure thing is that there should be no money, no domination, no such thing
like the human violent instinct, a return to mother nature should be pleasing
( of course with thousand of mythic creatures and surreal architectures,
green moons, etc.etc.etc. ( I could pass the day enumerating.....so.....)
dream on....).
F:
"In case of sudden worldwide cataclysm humanity will have to leave the
surface of the Earth and further move underwater". Do you consider this
assertion possible?
- Bubbles and SeaWeed..... Sure ! With modern
technology I assume we could develop a new civilization in the depth of
the oceans of the world. At the very least, the industries would have no
more reserve to build hydro-powered vehicles (down with gasoil!!). Sadly,
humans would take no time to exploit the natural ressources and pollutes
this area too, engendering another cataclysm in the span of ???? years.
But if everyone would, for once, act intelligently......the beauty and
mysteries the seas hide would be ours to
discover.......exploring our amphibic possibilities
and mutating with the generations into a new race of seamen. If the cradle
of humanity has once been water ( in a time the only lifeforms were bacteries,
biological planktons and others ancestors of all life....) there should
be no reason it could'nt be its aqua tomb too !!
F: I guess you
won't dispute the assertion stating that there's undoubtedly enormous number
of various lifeforms dwelling amidst the universal planes. However, the
question is: do any of them have a musical culture in your view, and if
yes, what is it represented with?
- Frankly, we absolutely have no conception of what an alien musical culture should represent. It would really be too far fetched and would be complete speculation of our part. Your assertion is right, that we're sure.....but the musical representation of aliens thought is really......alien for us.........
F: Once having descended on alien planet, what compositions ever composed by UNEXPECT would you perform in case of such a necessity?
- Since we would be alien to them as much
as the aliens mentioned I think that any song we would play should be an
interesting experience seeing that their musical culture would be completely
different ( perhaps even a system of frequence or unheard sounds, telepathic
music and such...). We assume we would try to influence them into a frenzied
jig playing Vespers Gold, in the same time trying to make them sing along
with the chorus just to hear the kind of voice these freaks could have.
We'd definitely bring some willing individuals with us on our huge spacevessel
to help us with the next recording and REALLY have something different
to offer to the Earth public. I would test some weird keyboard sounds too
in a random intuitive way just for fun.....
K / F: What is
your view on literature in the whole, and the progress it has made since
early years of Hellenistic (and Roman) culture(s)? Furthermore, would you
like to make any comment on contemporary (and not that contemporary) writers,
such as Mr. "Weird" Burrougs?
- Literature is one of the best way to enrapture
one's soul and elevate the mind to a greater level of comprehension and
infinite bliss. It is a pleasure to write, it is a pleasure to read. Again,
it is a matter of perception for one can't denigrate the writings of another.
It is too much personal. The boundless possibilities and the time required
to take a part in the literary process ( creation and appreciation ) is
so time consuming that with all life's pleasures, distracting as they are,
it is more and more difficult to spend attention and read avidly a whole
panoply of authors. We don't have the pretention of having read much writers
or knowing the
whole evolution of literature since the
ancient greek and roman cultures. I don't really know if we should call
it progress.... They only had a different vocabulary and vision of the
universe....With the coming of too much rationality, the authors have lost
the mystic touch that mythologies and its wealth of stories, deities, natural
phenomenon explanation brought. When we find time to read, some authors
we like are Oscar Wilde, Boris Vian, Margaret Weis, J.R.R Tolkien, Anne
Rice, R.A Salvatore, James Lowder, Lewis Carroll, Tracy Hickman and others
not so known. The art of writing has never been lost in time and it is
up to new generations to take on the sacred flame of inspiration in their
way. Tolkien is a favorite of ours. The Father of modern fantastic stories
and role playing games was a master of tongues and was so skilled, he created
a couple of imaginary languages for his characters, each with its own dictionnary
and grammary..... Zircon possess for exemple the dictionnary of the Elf
language as imagined by this great Hobbit. As for Burroughs, the only reference
I ever saw of him was in a At the Gates booklet including a citation :
" The face of evil is always the face of total need..." taken from 'Deposition:
Testimony Concerning A Sickness'.
K: Okay, enough with Burroughs. But… maybe not that enough. I'm just curious if you know the difference between cockroaches and typewriters?
- What an inquisitive mind is yours....Perhaps
are they literary terms or have a connection with Mr. Burroughs.... We
frankly don't know. We heard perhaps....perhaps...... a link with somebody's
movie featuring cockroaches coming out of a typewriter. If not, I'll crush
some of these bugs and will create a new kind of ink with their body juices
so I can write you a letter questioning the reasons and motivations of
posing such weird questions to a metal band........hehehe. If it is the
result of too much time dwelling in Burroughs lecture, I will start right
away reading this fabulous Weirdman.
K:
Is there anything you'd like to state concerning Canadian black metal scene?
Are there any other notable acts besides UNEXPECT?
- We don't know about the rest of Canada.
The only places there really is a scene is in Quebec and a small one in
British Columbia (or so I heard). We don't consider ourselves very black
metal ( not in mentality ) if not in the music familiarity with this genre.
Since classification is inevitable, we sometimes refer to ourselves as
a classico / power death / black ambient metal with oniric and medievalo
cosmic influence. So hard to describe......Definition is a limitation.....
Returning to other bands......There are not many "black metal" bands in
our area. I could name ONTOS ON, FROZEN SHADOWS, SHADE, MAGISTER DIXIT
(in which I played keyboards...) and MALVERY, which is the most hated band
in Quebec due to their suicide propaganda and concept ( the first singer
killed himself after the recording, his brother taking his place as singer...).
They really are the most extreme of the lot. The scene is slowly beginning
to grow but is still at its first steps.
F: Let me wonder
if you're capable of figuring out, how does certain
country's climate
affects the musical culture?
- The mood of someone is a definitely important factor in the composition process, so since weather is one of the biggest modifier of temperament..... I imagine an artist FEEL the climate and express it musically. A colder land will lead to harsh and brutal music, while a hot one is more favourable to party and dancing music. For exemple: We don't suppose Russians are great Samba lovers and don't consider Africans as black metal freaks....... Our own climate being temperate, we love everything !!
F: Global warming
is inevitably approaching, predicting unbelievably horrible yet tremendous
experience all of us will have to endure. What is your personal opinion
on such an event, which definitely will take place sooner or later?
- I'll never say it enough : Humans in
general are parasites....devouring its environment, laying waste to the
splendid nature for the love of money and a stupid sense of domination.
Our children will suffer from what their parents have sown.....global and
inevitable destruction of our spaceship. We don't have the slightest idea
of the number of years left to this planetary orb but even knowing our
ultimate fate we must not think about it, because as individuals, we can't
do anything....so better lead an happy life thinking positively and blinding
ourselves to the problems of this doomed vessel. I prefer to let myself
flow through an ocean of joyful thoughts, letting the others wondering,
fearing, stressing and slowly going mad because of something that is yet
to happen. When the end will come, we won't be able to stop it anyway......so
enjoy life !!! :)
F: Have you ever thought of starting a project / organization, named f.ex. "International coalition of black metal bands"? As far as I know, many people out there made suchlike attempts, although utterly worthless ones. Actually, it's my dream too, however I doubt if anyone will ever succeed in such a venture.
- Not at all...... We never felt the need
to do so. It could be helpful for sure, but I find it limitating to be
defined as only a BLACK metal coalition. We have interests in other kind
of music than black metal too... so..... anyway the term black is restraining
when you brandish a positive light. We recognize that we are part of the
"black" metal scene, but personally I see things a little more globally
and my first dedication is to music in general. So if there was a coalition,
we would take part in it but don't have the interest to start such a movement.
K: What is the
perfect lineup for a perfect black metal band, figuratively speaking? We
have international soccer teams ("an all-star teams", y'know), so why wouldn't
we have a black metal act comprised of internationally picked up musicians,
the best of their kind?
- Let's start our superstar blacky team:
on the drums......I can see no other HUMAN being other than Hellhammer
(save if IT gots 4 arms and a drumstick in the ass...) Hmmmmm, Mike Patton
on the vocal duties (FAITH NO MORE, Mr.BUNGLE) 'cos versatility is his
second name. On the left guitar...I present....: Paco de Lucia !!
flamenco extravaganza master (his gypsy blood would add an interesting
touch). To my right...... as the second strings stroker I name Alexi Laiho
(CHILDREN OF BODOM) to add some youth and speed mastery to the team. Assigned
to the low frequencies I declare as such: Sean Malone ! (CYNIC, AGHORA)
remembrance of past times....nostalgy... fretless adept. And why not add
a mysterious touch of violin ? I Pronounce grandly : Joshua Bell !! (Red
Violin virtuoso) ensorcelling! Yeah! hmmm... strange mix but.....You
know it COULD be a weird experience of black sonorisation leading to the
discovery of a brand new style!!!
K: What do you
know (and think) regarding Russia? Any metal bands coming from our lands
that you've heard lately?
- The image we have (even if not right),
is of a land torn by civil war and a people living in harsh conditions
in this HUGE country ! The army seems to be predominant and extremely present
in the everyday life of the Russian people. There are so many regions we
can hardly differ one from another. You seem to be a proud people, honorful
of the past and respectful too. Reading your questions made me realize
that you got an education system that is very cultured and profound (perhaps
even more than here...). But globally
Russia remains shrouded in mystery for
we don't know much about your culture or habits. Something that IS sure
is that we would love to pay you a visit one day, execute a show and visit
this immensity of diversity. We sadly don't know any band from your country.
We did'nt even knew there was an active metal scene in Russia before your
message so.....Hope to hear some soon!
Thousand thanks to thee, our precious guest, for answering this hellishly long interview! Even though we doubt if you have anything else to add, you may spill the verbal blood of yours here, upon these lines, the very last ones.
- Life is a theater. Humanity, us, the cast, actors, are here to give the best representation of ourselves. Be playful and mostly... be YOURSELF. Whatever the reactions of the outside, a lying life is a sad one. Transcend the stage that was set for you and create a new one to YOUR image !! Possibilities are endless...........Imagination make Kings of beggars.... A power that should not be wasted...... Dream On and set your spirit free. Taste life as a last drop of water in the arid desert of conformity. Delightly!!!
