What was the most memorable experience you've endured in your entire
life?

- I bought a new car and I had to wait for it 4 months for being delivered to me. As I finally got that mobile, one week later my neighbour crashed into it with his car! That was fucking no fun!!!

... and what about the most bizarre dream you have ever seen?

- I can not remember my dreams when I wake up the next morning. So, sorry I canīt tell you anything about the dreams I surely have.

Why have you started VIOLATION? Like, "something's lacking in my life, something's still incomplete... and perhaps the music is what it should be"... Weren't you thinking this way?

- No, not exactly. As VIOLATION was born in 1994, we still went to school or had just began an apprenticeship. So we had a lot of spare time. All we did was hanging around and enjoying life. And listening to some music. As the kids we were at that time, we thought that being a rockstar would be very cool and why not try and play some music by ourselves. This would be very funny. So we started to play. Nowadays, with lots of experiences more, we know that weīre never going to be any "rockstars", of course, but the fun, creating your own kind of music still exists.

Do we have to be either clairvoyants or telepaths in order to figure out what is your bio alike? "Starting back somewhere in mid-90s, a couple of demos, a record deal with Last Episode, a CD, another deal, this time with Red Stream, another CD, live performances"... This is what it's all about, I assume?

- You need to be neither a clairvoyant nor a telepath. Itīs pretty simple: VIOLATION started in 1994, in 1996 we recorded a demo tape called "Carbonized", then we signed a contract with Last Episode Productions and released our debut CD "Beyond The Graves" in 1998. Things didnīt work too well, so we decided to break up the record contract with aggreement by LEP. Thereafter we signed another contract at Invasion Records. Unluckily they ran out of business a few weeks later, none Invasion band knows why, not even to this day. The former boss is still missing without any kind of a trace. So, one more time we had to check out new labels and finally we signed at Red Stream, which released our second full length output "Moonlight's Child" in 2000 and they will also release our next one in 2002. Well, thatīs the main story about VIOLATION.

By the way, why have you decided to part ways with Last Episode? It's
seemingly one of the best record companies in Europe, therefore...?

- We both, LEP and VIOLATION, decided to part ways, because in the end we had too different imaginations of how the teamwork between record company and band should be. LEP is a good label for black metal music, maybe the best in Europe, if you want so. I donīt share this opinion.

Should we consider VIOLATION a death or black metal act?

- As a death metal act, of course!

What would you mark out as the principal differences between "Beyond The Graves" and "Moonlight's Child"? The latter is more black metallish piece, don't you think?

- I donīt think "Moonlightīs Child" is more black metallish. Itīs more melodic, thatīs right. We used more melodies played with two guitars and due to a new singer, the vocals are different as on "Beyond The Graves". And last but not least the whole songs are a little bit faster on "Moonlightīs Child".

Of course, it's solely my opinion, but "Moonlight's Child" possesses too "dry" production, hence not being 100% successful in terms of sound execution...

- We thought that kind of sound would fit pretty good to the songs and carry out the melodies in the best way. Of course, now after a years time passed by, there are some things we noticed that we could have made better, but I think itīs natural īcause everybody keeps on developing. In my opinion itīs the bassdrum that is too loud and maybe the vocals could be a little louder, but the rest is still good.

What's your attitude to rip-offs? Don't you think that there're plenty of those who've been unjustly accused in being rip-offs (due to postal service's unsatisfactory work, for instance)?

- I donīt know, because finally you cannot find out if it was a real rip off or if the postman failed. Everybody can say that things have been lost on the way. You canīt prove that it is a lie. But serious people will send again I think. To all the other guys I will give a fuck off!

Do you know anything regarding Russia? Any metal bands coming from the country of mine you've heard lately?

- Iīm sorry, I do not know much about Russia and Russian metal bands. I think, I never heard one.

I mentioned the phenomenon of telepathy earlier in this interview, therefore let me know what's your opinion on telepathy and so-called telekinesis?

- Maybe everyone of us can do things like that, if we learn to use enough of our unused brain capacity, but we should not misuse these abilities for crimes and to harm other people.

Closing up. Any finalizing / conclusive either words or assertions?

- A big thank you to you for doing this interview and for your patience. And also to all you guys around the world having supported us so far: THANK YOU!!! You fuckin' rule!!! Watch out for our next CD out in 2002! Maybe we can meet somewhere somewhen and have some beer! CHEERS!!! Check out the official VIOLATION homepage at:
